Rather hoping they extend the soundtracks with these. Good songs among them, but San Andreas especially suffered from the game being too damn big and listening to the same stuff over and over, especially if you didn't like a chunk of the genres in the game. GTA III definitely needs this the most, ironically. At least Liberty City Stories made it so there were multiple artists on the radio stations, giving you some additional variety, while the original felt more like demo tapes, using only one artist per station in some cases. I think the argument back in the day was how GTA was a known series, but it wasn't "big" enough to warrant having all these licenses, whereas by the time Vice City came along, the franchise had established itself enough to justify not only affording the fees, but also using the soundtrack to situate the time period. It also would benefit if they were randomized and not formatted to a specific media file that plays on a loop, which is what they did in San Andreas. I'll give Rockstar some credit for LCS with the use of original music for Head Radio and Lips 106, because III had original songs for those respective stations. However, when listening to The Liberty Jam, I was intrigued with listening to some East Coast Rap hits from the mid-to-late-1990s as most of those songs were timely in the setting. I will say that GTA III made me a fan of Royce Da 5'9", so I can't complain about the use of some less-than-well-known acts on some stations. Also, do you remember that they had songs from the Scarface soundtrack on the Flashback station? If I was playing the OG Xbox versions of those games, I would use the custom soundtracks but I would use songs that are relevant to their time periods.

It's out November 11th.
Being $60 is going to make me wait on getting it though, especially since GTA games always quickly plummet in price.

I’m actually shocked the graphics got a face lift, even if they do look a little uncanny valley.
Well, time to buy these games yet again... at least it’ll be different this time.

Pft, Playstation got f***ed. I don't see how? They're getting the game on their PSNow service, albeit a month later. PSNow is actually a LOT better than when it was first launched, and you can download the files to run the game locally as well to avoid the streaming hiccups you may encounter (though I've played plenty of titles via the streaming method with no issue thanks to stable internet). Sure, XBGP is the best deal in gaming at the moment, but Sony has been improving and just needs to take their GaaS plan seriously. I've been able to play things like Last of Us 2, Spider-Man, Bloodborne, God of War, and Persona 5 through the service perfectly fine (though many of those titles are already gone...seriously Sony, your first-party titles shouldn't be disappearing from your own services!).

I meant mostly in how San Andreas is way the f*** better than GTA3. At least if it were Vice City Sony were getting it'd be a bit more equitable.

See, I just need Vice City damnit. Still my favorite of the first three Yeah, GTA III was the first and revolutionary, but very much rough around the edges and lacked a lot of the features for later, especially camera control. San Andreas was too big for its own good and the extra bells and whistles tended to highlight the issues rather than smooth them over. Vice City was a right balance between the two.

This is going to be(to my knowledge) the first time a GTA game has ever come to a Nintendo home console.
They only had handheld releases, prior.

I've never understood how the country station in San Andreas actually has a lot of great songs while the one in GTAV is pretty much entirely propped up the Highwaymen.
Probably just going to play San Andreas on Gamepass for now though do want to get the trilogy when I have less shit to buy, though not sure on what console. Probably depends on how the Switch versions are comparatively.

Blah a decent amount of songs cut, oh well it was expected. Maybe I’ll get it later on down the line.

I had forgotten how much of a pain in the ass the cops could be in III, along with the fact that no matter what you're driving the smallest car could hit you and you swerve like crazy. Meanwhile, you hit somebody, it moves them a little bit.

Meanwhile, you hit somebody, it moves them a little bit. They never figured out proper driving mechanics. Either that or they're very proud of their fishtailing simulator.

I replayed San Andreas about 7 years ago and gave up 10 minutes in, the controls had aged poorly.
So is that a major improvement in this edition?
