Him being acknowledged by the Guinness Book of World Records and his merch sales surpassing that of the Bullet Club's shirt....
*whistles*
That's nothing to sneeze at. AEW's getting serious exposure from it as is, but this is one hell of a feather in the cap for them.

I think a lot of Punk's popularity seems from how visible he still was in what many consider "nerd culture" which is still pretty huge if we are being honest. That's something WWE has fought against for so long... which is weird because of how mainstream it is in a way

Tonight’s Road to episode will include more footage of behind the scenes stuff involving Punk’s debut. Likely with less snarky Elite reactions.

And I just saw where Booker T decided to open his stupid mouth.

And I just saw where Booker T decided to open his stupid mouth. He's entitled to his opinion, but given the circumstances of his departure not only from WWE but from wrestling altogether, not addressing the elephant in the room would have been a point of contention.

Shut up Booker. Punk is the one guy who has the reasons and ability to pull that off without making it a stereotypical eye roll.
If Bryan comes in and takes shots? Fxxx that noise. Lmao

Yeah, look, this isn’t like Damien Sandow talking about how unfair he was treated and looking like a goober afterwards, this company fired him on his wedding day and set out a campaign to make him look like a liar going as far as put up a video of his back on their YouTube channel for all to see.
And even with everything, his shots were tame as f***. Like, they couldn’t be used to start a fire to burn a newspaper.

Maybe Booker T should shut up since himself did a promo about WWE when he joined TNA.

Maybe Booker T should shut up since himself did a promo about WWE when he joined TNA. But he was actually there, he’s allowed to take shots! [/bullyray]

Man, having Mark Henry on the poster just feels weird. They could have at least counterbalanced him with a shirtless flexing Jim Ross in place of PAC.

Booker calls it a swing & a miss, but he couldn't be more wrong, especially given the circumstances that caused Punk to walk out on wrestling in the first place. I myself would usually prefer wrestlers not take shots at WWE, but CM Punk is the exception here. He had a legitimate reason, and in order for him to return after 7 years of being away from the business, it's important that he cleared the air and got that off his chest.
Punk didn't just take a swing. He crushed the ball and knocked it out of the park.

Punk had to address why he was away for seven years if he wanted to explain why he was back and why we should believe it's a full-time thing. He was rather restrained, I think. He said he got in a bad place when he was there and needed to get away to be healthy—he didn't bury the booking or how he was treated. He did say that WWE wasn't pro-wrestling (not in those exact words, but it was his point) and WWE themselves say that.
Booker is such a shill.

AEW's stepping up their video package game lately and this Punk vid is more evidence of that.

This production view of Punk's entrance is fascinating.

There was no reason to show things from the production side but I’m glad for it because, man, you could tell the glee when they got some of that just right.

Being a Mass Communication major, this was awesome to watch. I've been at that board and wow is it stressful. The director position especially was awful for my anxiety. Was too cool to watch that and recognize all the language and stuff.
Damn that just made his whole return all that much more special.
