I think its the case of people letting the internet decide for themselves before watching the actual product. While that Ed looks bad I dont think it should negate the good Wait.... She IS in the show? Yeah a few posts up shows her scene

I watched an episode and a half, I might give it another shot but, yikes. That f***in sucked lmao. I understand it was never gonna be the anime, but like I don’t know if they totally missed the tone of the original or were just like “lol what if cowboy bebop was whacky?” Everyone’s doing the best with the material they’ve been given though. Also, Faye’s fine as f***

I never saw the anime or manga--title always put me off. Just sounds lame. I always thought it was about a cowboy called Bebop
Anyway, saw the first episode.... it didnt hook me. The main two characters are likeable and have good chemistry. I quite like the aesthetics of the world and set designs.
The fight scenes sucked. They were slow and clunky.

If you took a chance on the live action, you should just watch the anime already. It's only 26 episodes and a great sci-fi adventure. Also takes a lot of inspiration from Westerns, film noir, and western animated shows like Batman The Animated Series.

The anime's kind of a thing where I respect it a lot more than I actually like it. It's super well made on pretty much every level, constantly trying out different genres and tones and musical styles to create a very distinct and memorable experience... but that also kind of turns into constantly fluctuating wildly in how it actually feels episode to episode, with some things being stellar while others are just weird experiments that don't work, and it does definitely feel like a show being made week by week without any real planning behind it which is especially obvious if you binge it. And I think the Vicious and Julia stuff is by far the weakest and least interesting part of the show, and kind of especially draws attention to how it's entirely the voice acting that makes Spike at all interesting. Also I kind of can't tell why they even keep Faye around, she's a fun character and the show benefits when she's around but her only modes are 1), being completely useless, and 2), being less than useless by actively screwing the others over.
I do like the show but it's not something I'm really terribly likely to ever actually want to just turn on and watch.

I always thought it was about a cowboy called Bebop There is an episode with an actual cowboy. It is very distracting that he has the same voice as Timmy Turner's dad.

I have to agree on the Vicious and Julia part they were really one note and a weak point in the series. Ironically they're my least favorite part of the Netflix show. So at least Netflix adapted that from the anime haha

I've always liked the original, but it was never a sacred cow for me, so I'm probably more open to adaptation changes than some more hardcore fans are bound to be. 2 episodes in, and I'm really liking it so far. I like the decision to introduce Faye earlier, and I am beyond thrilled they kept the cheesy bounty information show, with bad acting and breaking character and everything.

Watching it. I think it's alright. Tired already of people saying it's a laugh fest. The humor's not that bad.
The abridged comment is dumb.

Only seen clips so far but John Cho who is the already famous cast member who doesn’t need the money or platform so probably took the part as he was a huge fan of the anime looks depressed to the point of tears in the bits I’ve seen and I’m not entirely sure he’s acting.

Watched it and I really didnt like it. Biggest issues are what they did with Vicious and Julia. {Spoiler}{SPOILER: CLICK TO SHOW}They did the same thing with Julia as that they did with Misa in Death Note.

Finished it. I think that, overall, it overexplains things. The anime suggests things without feeling the need to dedicate entire episodes to the backstory. It also tries to connect characters to the main story unnecessarily (you don't have to connect certain characters to the story outside of they're bounties) and otherwise tries to flesh out characters, like Vicious and Julia, that lose something when you know more about them.

I guess John Cho's now got the Real Folk Blues.
Guess we won't be seeing you anymore, Space Cowboy.

In hindsight, this is what Netflix really should have gone for: {Spoiler}{Spoiler}
