In hindsight, this is what Netflix really should have gone for: {Spoiler}{Spoiler}{Spoiler} Sir. You're a genius.

I'm honestly disappointed at this news. Even as a fan of the anime, I was still quite entertained by the live action adaptation and enjoyed the direction they took with it (despite a few shortcomings such as the whole Vicious/Julia thing).
If anything, I hope they get a movie or something to tie up loose ends. Hate it when shows get canceled on a cliffhanger...

Netflix seems especially bad about giving up on shows that don’t show an immediate return on investment. I may never forgive them for not wrapping up Jupiter’s Legacy.

Despite me not liking the show, Netflix made a dumb move in cancelling it and it shows Netflix has no real faith in anything.
But Netflix is gonna keep being Netflix and eventually years from now, it will screw them.

Thats what fanfiction is for, did the original anime had loose ends tied up? Mostly. It's a show that kind of deliberately kept a lot of things vague and has an ending that's rather open to interpretation in a number of ways, but it feels conclusive. Though really I think the show actually would be better if the penultimate episode before the two-part finale was the ending, it feels more tonally consistent with the rest of the show.

I really can't blame Netlix at all for cancelling it. It was a very troubled production that was received poorly and quickly fell off in viewership, it probably would've taken a long time to get out a season 2 with virtually no chance of it actually doing well so why gamble on it?

Nope, there's a live action One Piece coming. I have zero expectations now The people cast as the Strawhats look the part and Oda is reportedly going to be involved in the production so it has that going for it. I believe it's going to be 10 one hour episodes covering up to the crew entering the Grand Line. I don't have particularly high hopes for it though and I binged through the entire manga over the last couple of months.

What they did with Julia was a stupid idea I think having Julia shoot Spike was actually a fine idea. It's not like her and Vicious were any good in the original show, and in a well-received Bebop that built up well to it, this plot twist could have had everyone buzzing with excitement and eagerly looking forward to the next season to see what happens. But the devil, as they say, is in the details. (Also, they lied! Ed was in the first season, apparently. Although it was likely a bad idea to adapt her so.... directly. Other than her being inexplicably white now.)

I’m pretty f***ing bitter about the Jupiter’s Legacy cancellation too. Show was far from perfect, but I enjoyed it and for f*** sakes it’s not like it was a 500 issue comic. They could’ve finished it off.

Can America stop trying to adapt anime now? Not as long if there's a chance for money to be made. Now the question is there any anime that CAN be adapted at least decently.
