The Fugitive (1993) was a quality film. I think it's generally considered a quality film Quality might be an understatement as to how it's viewed. It was a Best Picture nom, the performances of Ford and Jones are still praised, and it's still regarded as a fantastic action-thriller.

Oh it's definitely gotten its share of vitriol. I don't think it's unpopular at all to call it the worst (though, to be fair, this honor could be shared by like 5 other movies in this franchise). OK, now I'm interested in finding out how people rank the original F13 movies, best to worst, because I always thought 3 wasn't liked because it was just a retread of 2... I'd say 6, 4, 7, 1, 2, 8, 5, 3, 9, and haven't seen 10. If being a retread was a sin in this franchise then they'd all be considered bad 🥸 But I'd say for me it goes 6, 4 , 2, 5, 8, FvJ, X, reboot, 1, 7, 3, 9 I've never taken these films super seriously so I may be different in ranking the ones with better kills and funnier moments higher up on the list

Halloween 3 is a great film and the series should have gone with Carpenters original plan of a fresh story ever year.

Like this isnt me trying to insult you or anything but I've just never spoken to fans of the series and heard them not say 3 gets way to much hate and that the anthology idea is what they should have ran with

Nightmare on Elm Street, just like Hellraiser, gets worse with every rewatch. I don't exactly know what it is, the direction feels clunky and because the novelty isn't there anymore after more than 35 years of horror movies, the flaws shine through more. Both Nightmare 3 and Hellraiser 2 aged much better for being less avant-garde.

I have ran into a lot of people who share my opinion, but if we were the majority Halloween 4 wouldn't have to bring back Myers and Loomis after both being killed at the end of the second one.

Speaking of Halloween, whilst I respect it's place in horror cinema, it's a dreadfully boring slog that's about as scary as a Goosebumps episode.

The original probably hasn't aged well, although it's been awhile since I've watched it. Myres does seem a little of the poor cousin of Freddy and Jason who do seem to have a bit more punch to them. But... that theme tune....now nothing beats that.

About Halloween 3, the opinions I've heard from people I've encountered are either 'it's silly' or 'it's a damn classic and I watch it every Halloween' and it's a ton more of the later than the former...
I say H3 is a terribly made movie but it's a ton of fun and therefore worth watching.
Now, an unpopular opinion would be saying Halloween 4 was a great movie and the producers made the right choice bringing back Michael Myers...

When it came out yeah 3 wasn't popular but over time more people have grown to like and appreciate it. The real reason Myers came back is the studio didn't have faith people would care if it wasn't about Myers, hence why Halloween will always for better or worse be about Michael Myers

If anything, the movie has largely replaced the TV show it was based on in the cultural zeitgeist. A lot of people don't even realize it was an adaptation.

The only two Adam Sandler movie I've enjoyed were "Airheads" and the remake of "The Longest Yard", I've tried to watch "Waterboy", "Billy Madison", "Happy Gilmore" and I can't get more that 10 minutes in because I can't stand the guy.

That's the thing I like about 3, if you start pulling threads it's full of holes and falls apart, but my God its an entertaining and enjoyable tense mystery. Love the fact the hero is a functioning alcoholic and is always got a drink in his hand. And that ending. Wow! Regarding 4, I actually thought it was pretty good despite the resurrection of Myres and that Carpenter had bailed from his baby. 5 was shite, and while I did like where they were starting to go with the cult of Thorn (another unpopular opinion) they dropped it and Halloween didn't get its groove back until that one there that was the second reboot.

Add me to the “I can find something to enjoy about all nine mainline Star Wars films” club. Attack Of The Clones is IMO probably the weakest and that still has Yoda going Sicko Mode.
Oliver Stone’s Nixon biopic is so much better than JFK. JFK has good performances, but it’s a mess.

I don't think it's much of an unpopular opinion anymore but The Cable Guy was damn funny. I think part of the problem people had when it came out is that Carrey's character and the movie itself were a little darker than people were expecting coming off of his run of silly movies/characters

Part of me thought “yikes, let’s get back to Jim stalking Simba.”
