so don't really know if this fits here or not, but MJF just went on twitter defending Zachary Wentz Again? I know MJF defended Wentz when everything first happened last May, saying “I lived with this man. He’s not an antisemite.” Edit: Huh, apparently he did bring it up again. Wonder what prompted it? Likely Wes Lee (Desmond Xavier) showing out at Vengeance Day. I could see how that might bring up talk about Wentz/Nash Carter.

I *get* the Jericho feuds in that he's pretty much the highest drawing heel so working with him always puts a spotlight on the other guy, but they also drag at times. To me it's getting to the point where they've gone to this well so many times but are getting diminishing results each time. Started with Orange Cassidy and it worked for him, so they've done the same thing with others. It works but it takes years to get to the point most times. I mean, it's great Starks is feuding with him and will end up winning the feud, but Jericho feuds can be a slog to get through. Yeah I think it's time to pick Sammy or Garcia as his protége and have those two ditch the rest and concentrate on the tag division. It'll probably help Starks long-term but that awful promo segment where only Hager came out with any credit greatly reduced my interest.

He's wrestling on indies like AAW, Warrior Wrestling, and The Wrestling Revolver as part of the Rascalz with Trey Miguel and Myron Reed. MJF was basically saying it's a shame he's not on tv because Kimber Lee was reacting to Wentz dumping her (and also called her out for lying about abuse and getting caught) But that's another story

I'm drawing a blank as to who has benefitted from feuding with Jericho in AEW, especially recently. His feuds with MJF, Eddie Kingston, and BCC seemed like they all lasted a combined 15 years, and none of the talent involved was any better off than they were before whether they won or lost the final match. I feel like Ricky Starks will end up with the same fate. Whether he never loses a match against the JAS or whether he takes a tainted loss and wins out in the end, the reality is he'll be in the exact same spot as he was before the feud, with the risk of losing a bunch of momentum because he was on fire right after the MJF match and this feud will likely last a few more months at the minimum.
I actually think Hobbs is the guy the company ends up pushing the hardest in terms of Black talent. Swerve is another one, but something about Hobbs' presentation reminds me a bit of Wardlow so I could see them pulling the trigger with him at some point.

He exists in a parallel universe from the rest of the company. People are 'elevated' while they feud with him because they are linked to him in the moment, but once the feud ends, there is no residual rub to be had.

I don’t recall a 4th member.

so while not perfect, it does feel like Starks, Hobbs, Swerve, and Lee are on the verge of truly breaking out (with the Acclaimed already broken out) with Willow likely on that path soon as well.

mentioned this in the TNT thread, but I think you see Hobbs win the TNT title and I'd have Swerve beat OC for the All Atlantic title

Swerve, Lee, Hobbs, and Starks absolutely can be that first black World Champion. Really, I think the only thing holding Lee back in particular is any lingering health problems. I hope this thing with Dustin Rhodes is just Lee wanting to work with him on his farewell tour instead of compensating for Lee not being able to work long singles matches yet. Otherwise, you've got four amazing talents that are clearly placed to take that leap to the main event scene sooner than later. You've also got guys like Lee Moriarty and the Martins waiting in the wings, too.

Swerve or, eventually, Hobbs would be my picks. I've always liked Keith Lee and he would be good guy to build as well, but I just think Swerve and Hobbs are above him right now, IMO.

Starks will get the rocket first he’s already surpassed one of the pillars (Sammy) and Swerve won’t be far behind him as Khan can barely believe his luck at him falling into his lap.
Lee is in danger of getting lost because they have an abundance of hosses; Hobbs, Big Bill, Joe, Wardlow, Singh if he improves there’s even talk of Paul Wight having a final run. It’s a contrast to the companies beginnings when they hardly had any hosses.
