Amazing deal, love it. Make Owen the most OP character in that AEW game yall. Do work. Yep, that's how you use legacy talent. Don't push them to the back to be used as butts of jokes, utilize them in the best way possible and they'll flourish because they've been through it all. I enjoy them in AEW more than I've enjoyed them in WWE since, well, since the whole Hall of Pain vs Big Show days. THis is kinda off topic, but I hope AEW actually tries to make a balanced roster. I think you can have like,Cutler as the joke characte rwith awful stars, but try to have most of the roster balanced. It would be fun to have a wrestling game with a more balanced roster similar to how a lot of fighting games are compared to how wrestling games are these days where they balance it based on where people are on the card. That would help separate their games compared with others. Say they give everybody 50 points and each wrestler separates them all depending on who they are and what differentiates them are the different moves they have. It would be good.

I can see where people are coming from when they think it's odd since Owen's passing predates even the concept of AEW by decades. I think the takeaway from this is that it's good that a promotion with AEW's reach and visibility is giving Owen's family and loved ones a "voice" or a "platform" without having to succumb to WWE's horseshit.
I actually think it makes perfect sense considering that AEW is essentially wrestling, by wrestlers, for wrestling fans. I never knew the man but I feel like that's the lane he would probably choose too.

I see absolutely nothing wrong with this. This is good all around and continues to show why AEW is just good for wrestling as a whole. Stuff like this can finally happen for guys who deserve it like Owen Hart
As for the Tournament... if they make it like a United Stated G-1 and have some special appearances? Holy shit sign me up... count me in for also hoping Bret would be present.

Goddamn great! Really cool.
Owen deserves that spotlight, always has and I'm glad this opportunity has been taken. Thumbs up.

Im pleased to see Owen get some attention, but he has nothing to do with AEW. He obviously never worked there, never worked with anyone who is there, has absolutely no link to them in any way. It's cool, but it's the wrong company in as far as being able to really go all out. Well it wasn't going to happen with WWE. Owen did work with some of the guys in AEW now, especially the older vets. He's well respected by many wrestlers and again, since it won't happen with WWE, I don't mind it.

Also, imagine if this is one of the first things they run when they’re able to run in Canada. They've definitely got the long-term planning because once the pandemic dies down and they can go to Canada, it's the perfect thing to get Canadian fans jazzed.

It’s also not like they haven’t respected legends before. They did that whole thing in Memphis where guys like Lanny Poffo and the Rock ‘n Roll Express were paid tribute to and they have about as much to do with AEW career wise as Owen did. It's no different from WWE inducting people into their HOF that have never set foot in a WWE ring. I guess to them, it's a half-assed way of ensuring that these folks don't fade away into obscurity.

I mean, ECW even had legends come out during a show in Atlanta which…felt really out of place. It’d be like if a comedian in the 90s was doing a really edgy routine on TV and then went “Ladies and Gentlemen, Don Knotts!”

I'm just happy that Martha her children can honor him and his wrestling career on a public and international stage. From watching the DSOTR episode i took away that his family are very bitter towards the wrestling buisness and rightly so so hopefully this may help to heal that. Owen meant a lot of different things to a lot of people. Will be nice to be able to celebrate that.

I'm curious if anybody had a picture that Martha was always against wrestling like I did based on Bret's book. After listening to her Talk is Jericho last year she actually seemed to really love that Owen was a wrestler and loved traveling the world with him... she and him were just ready to move on and have a family.
I for so long had this idea that she just hated wrestling but the truth is she just hated WWE and that's understandable

We talk a lot about Owen, who he was, and why he was so beloved.
This is a really nice way to tribute him. And getting his wife on board makes it even better.

Goddamn great! Really cool. Owen deserves that spotlight, always has and I'm glad this opportunity has been taken. Thumbs up. Agreed. Finally fans get to celebrate his legacy and if it helps the Owen Hart foundation all the better. Man, Brodie and Owen will get action figures. Legendary sales there.

I hope that this and DSOTR convince people that Martha doesn't hate wrestling, she hates the WWE for getting her husband killed and doesn't want them to make money from his image.

I imagine the grief of losing your husband and his family selling you out for money would make anyone bitter. But I'm glad her and her kids (who are around my age, how cool) get to enjoy Owen's legacy in the hands of someone who wants to do the right thing.

Yeah half the family essentially ditched her and sided with the WWE during the lawsuit so that they could get WWF appearances/contracts. The family being carnies like that really burnt her.
