I'm thinking of diving into some more classic Who via the iPlayer once I'm done with another thing I'm watching right now. I'm finding the prospect of 600+ episodes a bit daunting to watch in order so anyone with suggestions of classic stories with any Doctor/companion setup and indeed any recurring foes etc are welcome. Obviously it helps if they're complete, which it seems would be a problem for much of the 2nd Doctor era, that seems to be the one with a lot of missing episodes. Yeah, suggest some classic Who to watch please! Sure! Here's a grab-bag of what I think are good stories and (Mind Robber aside) also early stories in each era, to give you a flavour. The Fourth Doctor's era alone covers so many stories, there are three distinct production tones, but this is a good start. One for each Classic Doctor. 1st Doctor - The Aztecs 2nd Doctor - The Mind Robber 3rd Doctor - The Daemons 4th Doctor - The Ark in Space 5th Doctor - The Visitation 6th Doctor - Attack of the Cybermen 7th Doctor - Remembrance of the Daleks Hope you find some stories here to enjoy. Thanks! And also thank you to thechase for the suggestions! Also further to my previous post, those parliament sets are the exact same as the single boxed ones, so I'm gonna get set 1 as that has three of the ones I wanted. Also, I watched the 75-minute "The Daleks in Colour" edit on iPlayer the other night. Fascinating to see the debut of such iconic characters. The new score was a bit... not quite there, if that makes sense. Felt newer than the footage in a way that didn't quite fit to me.

Yeah, I get you, I often get that with the optional CGI versions of some old Classic episodes.
A handful work great (like the Curse of Fenric Special Edition), but for most, the effects just feel too good and too modern and end up jarring. So I stick to the originals except in a few cases, more usually 80s stories, where I think they work.
Similar thing for the music, I'm sure. 60s Who music is pretty different from the 70s, and the 80s a lot different than that, so it would sound odd out of their eras.

Thought he was the best thing about Trial. Glad he got to reprieve the Valeyard in the audios a few more times. Such a great voice. RIP.

Valeyard's probably the most requested baddie we have from Classic Who besides The Rani. We don't normally go one series or so even now without hearing "this is the one where he'll definitely show up"

I really glad Jayston got the chance to further explore the character with Big Finish, and even naturally pulling off a heroic role in the War Valeyard story.

For anyone following the Unearthly Child drama...it hasn't abated and as of now, the story is no longer on Britbox

It's a shame, I love them, but understandable.
Though we are getting into the area with a few remaining sets where the main cast is sadly no longer with us or, in the case of Tom, not really up to a live action shoot I'd think.
The Season 18 trailer is probably the most simple of all, a clip show with Tom narrating, but that was still fun.

After watching the Oscars
They're missing a trick if Rusty doesn't at least include a line that The Doctor once met Slash in series two

And the new content drop is basically that the first two episodes of the new season will be on iPlayer and Disney+ at midnight on May 11th and then air the same day on BBC 1 before Eurovision. Is this the first time the BBC will be airing two new episodes of the same show without it being a marathon or a “____ night”?

Today's new content, besides the announcement, is a oh so brief announcement trailer, I imagine this'll air before Comic Relief on BBC ONE tonight

As someone who has just started to get into the series from the very start (classic Who), the Collection box sets have been absolutely amazing.
The sheer amount of extras and bonuses on those discs are incredibly overwhelming. I'm happy to see it, especially in an era where so many (non-independent) labels barely give us anything. And it's especially great that they included archival features from the DVD and VHS releases.
So far, I have the Hartnell box, one Pertwee series, two Tom Baker series and one Davison series. They've all been worth every penny.

It was one of the BBCs biggest sellers in the DVD era so they went all out, the cast and crew love the show so jumped at taking part so everything worked out. Plus, it's individual stories, so unlike say, Star Trek where it had to be big, season long sets, they could jump around the timeline, see who was available and it was much easier to plan. I'd say Doctor Who is in my top 3 in terms of features for shows along with The Simpsons and Red Dwarf, just amazing collections.

Still going through Doctor Who with my son. Halfway into series 3.
The Lazarus Experiment scared the pants off him. (Mark Gatiss as the guy who is turned young but also into a giant life-sucking scorpion) To the point that he said he would not watch any more Doctor Who.
A few weeks later we wanted to get back into it so we put on 42 (what felt like yet another falling-into-a-sun episode). He grabbed a book and said he wasn't watching it and went upstairs to his room. Not long into it, he came halfway down the stairs and watched around the corner. Then he came and sat on the couch and finished it and stuck with us for the rest of the marathon.
We watched the Family of Blood 2 parter. The Doctor becomes human and goes into hiding from murderous aliens in 1913 England as a teacher in a boarding school. Great episodes there. Harry Lloyd (Viserys from Game of Thrones) stole the show. "Will they thank you?"
And finally....Blink. I thought the Weeping Angels would freak him out, but he handled it just fine. Carey Mulligan as Sally Sparrow is hard not to fall in love with. "Because life is short and you are hot."
Next up: HERE COMES THE MASTER. Utopia, The Sound of Drums, and The Last of the Time Lords.
