It’s (likely) not the end of the AEW upward trajectory if Smackdown can somehow have more viewers and higher demos on a D-tier sports channel that week, but just for the sake of the memes directed towards Tony in the aftermath, he better not phone it in.

It's actually really funny to see people worked up over a single tweet when WWE at one point had DX drive a "Tank" to a WCW show and "declare war" live on television... and they constantly try and say it was one of the turning points of the war and it was a completely meaningless segment when it actually happened. WWE glorifies their victories to absurd degrees. Yet when they're trying to yet again undercut another rising company, the "the toxic mentality" that is being bred is by Tony Khan because of one tweet. If you never liked this stuff then I guess it's fair enough. But the fact we have seven pages of discussion about whether or not this Tony Khan Tweet is too much or he should stay in his lane is ridiculous imo. Learn your wrestling history... this is a pebble when Vince used to throw Boulders at people.

Idk if thats the reason why Khans tone changed today... If you want something that's actually toxic? It's this shit. Posting preliminary ratings that aren't right and are never right to give wrestling fans something to bitch about... only for the ratings to change by 100-200K a few days later and nobody says anything because it doesn't fit their troll narrative. I mean it even got you to bite on it. "Maybe this is why Khan changed his attitude". He didn't change anything. He's been honest this entire time while these tweets literally drum up more tribalism than Khan could ever hope to do. Trust me I've seen it lol.

Should also note the last 30 minutes of the Smackdown. The 30 minutes that specifically clash with Rampage? Are commercial free
They arent subtle at all lmfao.

Learn your wrestling history... this is a pebble when Vince used to throw Boulders at people. The difference is the social media landscape and tribalistic nature of people leads to these crazy toxic exchanges all over, including in wrestling. I don’t think anyone thinks the tweet was a grandiose shot across the bow or anything. But it certainly has fueled a certain type of discussion to a grander scale because it’s the owner of the company tweeting it out. It’s not as bad here thankfully as it is on other platforms.

The majority of those examples were also considered needless and cringeworthy, so I don't really get that as an arguement. Tony's business plan might involve him playing 1995 Eric Bischoff, but I don't get how it benefits AEW to engineer partisanship when the other side has way more fans. They need to be worrying about getting people to switch over after Smackdown has finished, rather than incentivising people not to watch so WWE can 'win'.

3D chess by Khan. They win and the feud rumbles on. If as likely Smackdown beats them the more arrested development minded members of the locker room take to twitter to gloat (right now in the Lynch/Rollins household: "Becky come and take a look at this! Good burn right? One for the drafts folder? What do you mean this one sucks too? C'mon please write one for me! I'll do the dishes for a month I swear!") and the meme on page 2 becomes obsolete and the feud rumbles on with a bit of fizz. Khan is simply a student of Bischoff when it comes to self promotion and that was part of the business Eric did excel at.

I know Vince “is focused on what they’re doing” but I’d love to see and know his reaction to Tony if people would ever relay this kind of stuff towards him.
Like, I’d like to think he’s like “ HA HA bring it, pal”.

The Rampage overnights last week were 594K and ended up at 622K so it only went up 30K from that. This week is a significant drop.

AEW will win the first 30 minutes if they have Punk kick off the show
he's the biggest draw in the business among active wrestlers IMO
