They should have hired Gresham instead. Throw money at him. He checks all the boxes and doesn’t have the checkered history Lethal does. I'm guessing he won't be free until after Final Battle (especially since he's booked on tomorrow's show), while Lethal is free. Same for Shane Taylor.

Another thing, this signing comes on the heels of a conference call in which Tony Khan had to apologize for a comment he made. The comment gave the impression (rightly or wrongly) he does not value his female talent as much as his male talent. The optics of this are terrible as is the timing. The f*** has been happening over the past week what the hell is thisssssss Yeah, I read that thread earlier like what the f*** is this and why does he keep getting away with this He's made a habit of putting his foot in his mouth and his low key arrogance is starting to show more and more

Yeah, if you want to bring in Black talent that can immediately be inserted into a higher spot on the card, you make a pitch to Jonathan Gresham or you wait for Keith Lee's non-compete to expire and send a Brinks truck to his place. You don't sign a guy with the problematic history Lethal's got.
Just... man. It really does feel like outside of the absolute worst offenders, Speaking Up really does feel like it hasn't changed as much as it should've. We've got a long way to go in this business.

Like, I’m an ideal world, you’d ask ROH about it and they’d disclose what they found from their investigation and you’d be able to figure it out from there.
But, and it has to be said again, ROH intentionally said they started an investigation and did not reveal the results to anyone which gives the impression the investigation was just there to be a smokescreen and the fact nothing came from it gave likely the wrong impression that it was the case.
Now, again, not taking AEW’s blame away from it but a lot of it was pretty deliberate on ROH’s part at the time. And yeah, people are going to hear a lot about it now and make everyone involved look bad, especially Lethal because there’s unresolved shit there.

I’ll take the unpopular stance that unsubstantiated allegations probably shouldn’t be enough to prevent someone from working anymore, but I’m not entirely sure that Jay Lethal is worth that headache and potential backlash.
I’m not, like, anti the signing, it’s just a bizarre one given the plethora of talent that is out there to grab right now.

A shame there's gonna be a dark cloud over this signing because god damn this theme is awesome...

The people who might be free agents technically still aren’t so you either take a risk with someone that could be a thorn or you wait and, really, the latter was the better option, especially Keith Lee being a available in 2022.

Between moments like this and his constant flexing on Twitter.

She just wanted to know if AEW was planning to have any female main events or all-female cards in the wake of so many other promotions doing so).

That's what I mean tho Like you said most arrogant so far. He rightfully should be proud of AEW success but the more he talks, the more carny you see in him which isn't surprising since he has the NFL Still hasn't done anything stupid but I worry about his mouth and him always wanting to be right about stuff

I mean I do get it, we figured this would happen given he isn't perfect but it all happening like this. Nah, this dude is wildin. He needs to go back to how he was in the first year. He's saying more wild stuff the longer AEW is around like we said.

He was able to pull the awe schucks guy for a very long time but this an NFL man I believe he has a passion in wrestling and wants to do right by it 100 percent but the man comes across arrogant and in that low key himble brag way that gets annoying No doubt a good guy but the more AEW succeeds, the more I would actually pull him away from interviews

That's depressing. She didn't deserve that.

He's a friend of the EVPs and his crimes are "not as bad" as the other friends that got themselves banned by AEW. That's really what it comes down to. ACH was called "too annoying" by the Bucks like half a dozen times, which is why he went to NJPW Strong instead of getting a shot with this company. It's all about who you know here.
Lethal as just a wrestler is boring though. There will be a lot of talent for them to bring in very soon, and I personally wouldn't have used a spot on him.

Shit, even Joey Ryan got booked by some shindies after he got exposed as a literal monster. Though I'd put Marty Scurll more in the Ospready/Riddle camp because it doesn't seem like anyone prominent is booking him since his ROH contract ended.
ROH's track record really isn't good for these things on that note.
