Who should I believe, WWE's PR or Jeff's family? Hmmm. Here we go. Jeff has a history of lying about his problems. He no showed TNA events claiming that there was a snake outside his house that stopped him from leaving but turns out he was just staying home and doing meth. Yeah, some people have the hate blinders on when it comes to WWE (and deservedly so in some cases), but Jeff has not exactly earned the benefit of the doubt over the years when it comes to these issues.

My feelings of WWE rival dog shit at this point, but Beth Hardy did the same shit the last time Jeff got in trouble in 2019; If she said it was sunny I'd bring an umbrella and rain coat.

It’s possible, likely even, that he is “fine” right now. He could be sitting on the couch watching TV. If you’re an addict you’re not f***ed up 24/7.
He could still seriously need help though and almost certainly does. You don’t get asked to go to rehab unless people are worried about you.

Is it wrong that I feel like Hardy will go down as one of wrestling's greatest wasting of talent? Like, it sounds nuts when you think of his resume and longevity, but take into consideration the insane amount of talent and a charisma that just *reached* people. IMO, he never came close to what his potential was I don't know if I'd go that far because he still had a great career in spite of his demons. When I think of a waste of talent, it's someone who could've had a great career but never came close to achieving that. Someone like Low Ki or Austin Aries. But yeah, he is often his own worst enemy. He's in the class of Jake Roberts or Scott Hall. Great...GREAT careers, but there was another level that they didn't *quite* get to via their own undoing

Some of these tweets I'm seeing make it sound like he died. I'm glad I was this thread first or I'd have been freaked out.

It’s par for the course with Jeff. Everyone’s always been upfront about loving and liking the guy. But he has his issues.

If Jeff is "fine", then that's all we really need to know.
WWE and we clearly disagree, but it is _not_ our place, WWE's place, or anyone else's place to keep him clean and sober. That journey is for him alone.

Jeff is one of my all time favourites. I'm not sure what exactly happened here or is currently happening with Jeff but if it is addiction issues then all I can say addiction is an awful illness and I wish Jeff and his family all the best.

Will say I do find it pretty gross the amount of, "There are two sides to every story, what if WWE was offering unreasonable terms or making crazy demands or something," about this situation elsewhere. Like... It's not that I'd put it past them, but it does feel like a certain amount of blind fandom to just refuse to accept the very real probability that the guy with a 20 year track record of having issues like this did it again.

On top of being respected by everyone for his ability, he's almost universally liked by his peers. I don't know how else to say this without maybe sounding like a jerk, but this would almost surely be easier if Jeff was a loner or a malcontent

Not to mention that it often feels like that because he's so likeable, whenever Jeff does mess up, people tend to want to pass the responsibility for him pulling his crap together onto somebody else (usually Matt). If he really is battling with addiction again, he's got to put in the work, too. And I know it's difficult, but if it's true that he refused rehab, well, it sounds like he's not in that place, that state of mind yet.

If it’s a relapse due to him needing to relieve the stress of his heavily damaged body (ring mats are so cruel to the spine take heed Darby!) then he’s done really well staying clean for so long. It’s been 10 years I think. He should be proud. As for now I just hope he reconsiders the rehab option and lives a happy retirement painting.

IMO, he never came close to what his potential was It's not wrong to feel that way, but it's not a factual statement. In the 00's WWE squeezed every bit of juice out of both Jeff and Matt that they possibly could. Their TLC matches, Royal Rumbles, WrestleManias and so much more have been among the top most well spoken of matches in the modern era. Jeff was a top merchandise seller in his hey day and has had runs with every important title. He is looked at as one of the most charismatic talents of his time. Im not even a Jeff Hardy fan boy I just get so tired of all the hyperbole when it comes to wrestling.

Hoping for a postive outcome for Jeff and his family. Addiction is a true demon and I feel he needs to step away from actively wrestling ever again.

I’ve seen similar stories play out far too often irl outside of wrestling and all of this has me worried like a mf.
Man. This really sucks and I’ll try to stay optimistic but it looks bad.

I hope that if he has in fact relapsed then he is getting the help, love and support he needs. Being an addict isn't something that just disapears. Guys like him, Matt, Jake Roberts and Scott Hall have to live with it everyday. Hopefully he is able to deal with what's going on and be better off for it.

Something we might be forgetting here is that Jeff did battle COVID this year, and even if you are vaccinated, that can still cause issues with things like his in-ring cardio or his pain tolerance. Even the slighest complications could push him past the edge of being able to function in the ring.
