I don’t care where he works as long as he’s used well.
I wonder if Vince puts the belt on him at Day One now?

I think Lashley was put in that match for a reason, so he's either winning the belt or he's the guy to take the pin because this year they're keeping Rollins and Owens strong for whatever reason. If we're being honest with how WWE usually books things, I could see them pairing Owens/Rollins off for a big match at Mania to make up for the fact that they didn't get one in front of a crowd a few years ago while Lashley faces Lesnar for the WWE Title and Drew faces Reigns for the Universal Title. If there's no Rock, those are probably the two biggest men's main events they have.

I like that a lot of names now are taking advantage of the fact that there's another major company to squeeze better contracts out of WWE. Randy Orton did it when AEW started and now we have Kevin Owens doing the same.
If you've got the hammer swing it

Let's find out what you've won. Kevin, you've won spending the next 2 years jobbing to pretty much everyone but wait you've also won a cameo at the ATG Battle Royale! Don’t be a weirdo. Dude made a decision for himself and his family.

Good for him. Can’t say I’m personally too thrilled because I’ve felt for years he’s needed a change of scenery.
That said, he was entertaining for the first time in a long time Monday night. Hopefully he stays that way.

I’m disappointed he won’t be going to AEW but if this is the right thing for him and his family who am I to argue? I just hope he won’t regret it.

The issue with AEW is that they are so stacked with talent as it is. Sooner or later, they just won’t be enough room for them all (especially since Tony Khan does not want to fire people during a pandemic either).

I think one other thing to consider is that the AEW style is very physical and he may not want to or feel like he could keep up given the miles he's put on his body. It's why I don't expect guys like AJ Styles or Seth Rollins to go there either, for instance.
That, and dude secured the bag.

Orange Cassidy's kicks have shattered countless leg bones, man is reckless! Seth no, I can't say for Styles, I never thought I'd see him in the E.

Probably the worst career move he is ever gonna make.
Yeah he probably get paid but his stock is going to be significantly lower by the time they're done with him.

Good on him if they backed the truck of money up (I'm guessing they did), but damn, as a fan I hate to see it, he's an example of a guy WWE just has no clue how to utilize in an interesting way.
Granted, I could apply that to almost everybody, but it stands out when you're talking about Kevin Steen.

It's why I don't expect guys like AJ Styles or Seth Rollins to go there either, for instance. That, and dude secured the bag. I mean, potentially. But he's also not taking it easy in WWE either. Dude just worked a cage match last week and took a nasty back bump on the floor this week. Plus they're still working house shows which can take a toll. I imagine the guaranteed money was a major factor and hopefully he got a no-cut clause. He's also one of the few guys there who they seem to let have some say on their creative because his promos still feel very much like his own self as opposed to a scripted robot. They definitely trust him out there and it shows. He might not be a Mania main eventer but they keep him involved and near the top of the card at times. Plus you would think now that he's getting paid a ton that they won't just job him out left and right. There's no guarantees of anything in WWE which is their greatest weakness right now in negotiating but aside from that, I can see why he would stay.

Somewhat surprising but hopefully KO got a good guarantee. I'll say what I say about any wrestler though after you sign a big deal it you are unhappy in a couple months and want out that's on you.

Good on KO. As much as I'd love too see him put on classics with Darby, MJF, Danielson, Punk, Omega and so on, he's not exactly a spring chicken. If WWE is giving him good money and he's happy, I can dig it. Yeah, I think this is pretty much it. I also think it could be a case of him just not *wanting* to start over somewhere, and as long as the WWE would give him something within reason, he was gonna take it

Owens and Seth are the best things about this storyline right now. That’s the direction I would go if I were WWE.

It’s great they’re trying to fix developmental but I hope this is a start of a wake up to them that people like Bron aren’t going to be main roster ready tomorrow. They need people to guide them from top to bottom and in turn, they still need notable names that they can build from to make potential feuds with said talent mean something. They’ve already let a lot of people slip through, if Owens went, I’d wonder what their logic actually is.

Not to defend how WWE has handled the releases but I do think the idea of not hiring just to hire is a good change. Now there are people released I do feel bad for and there are people that have been released I'm stunned WWE had no idea how to use, but there is some sense in the moves that have been made and not just the theory of getting ready to sell. Andrew Zarian mentioned this last week bur he said he doesn't think people realize how smart Nick Khan is or what his background is so it's not all about making things look good for investors.
