Vince : Kevin, can you save the Brand?
KO: Of course, but it'll cost you. First, I'll need tenure.
Vince: Done.
KO: And a big hugeass check.
Vince: You got it.
KO: Also, access to booking, creative control and five NXT wrestlers, at least three of them amateur guys.
Vince: All right, done. What's your plan?
KO: What plan? I'm set for life. Au revoir, suckers!
Nick Kahn: That rat! Do something!
Vince: I wish I could, but he's got tenure.

On a personal level it's great for him and his family to have good money coming in but man as a pro,he needed a change of scenery as he is just so stale and its clear he will never be a main guy.

He was never going to be a main guy in AEW lol. Owens would have been the exact same way. A upper mid-card guy that you can shuffle back and forth between the midcard and main event.

Bit disappointing, less because I want him in AEW and more in WWE he's just boring as f*** at this point. Everything they're willing to do with him is very played out, he desperately needs a change of scenery.

More than anything it would have given us fresh matches.

I am happy for Kevin over anything else, especilly my own selfish wants and needs. I just hope he can find something fresh to do. The main reason I wanted him in AEW or anywhere else is because it feels like he hit a serious wall in WWE creatively.
He is one of the very few lately who has opted to stay which makes it stand out all the further for people to comment on, but it's his choice and certainly not one I'm gonna hold against him.

Probably for the best. The AEW roster is waaay too big. Khan can’t sign literally every wrestler there is.
Get that money, Kev.

Seems like a win-win for Kevin, who has always been business savvy.
Bidding war, had AEW for leverage to get big bank from WWE, presumably with cash up front after seeing what happened to Gallows/Anderson.
Now he either continues to make huge money with WWE that also gives him significant time off to be with his family - OR - if WWE terminates him out of nowhere he gets to walk right into AEW with all his best friends and a chance to showcase his creative freedom.
Love the guy, happy for him and his family.

I fine with this. I know a lot of people wanted him in AEW, but there were only two ways that was ever going to go:
1. He comes in working with The Elite and everyone complains because they're all over TV.
2. He gets lost in the shuffle and everyone complains about that.
I'd prefer him to stay where he can make what I'm assuming is good money, and getting used in a prominent position on weekly TV. And I would like to think they'll make it worth his while with a decent push. So yeah, let him stay put for now.

Also, I do want to point out that AEW *can* "sign everybody."
Let's stop saying they *can't*.
They've shown they can maintain a sizable roster with everyone remaining fresh and having something to do or getting some time between big angles. It seems like a much healthier way to run a major wrestling company.
Just because their peers and predecessors weren't able to do something doesn't mean AEW can't.

As much as I wanted Steen to wander over to greener pastures, I'll still be a fan of dude wherever he's lacing his boots up.

If it made more sense for him to re-sign, then fair play. Hopefully, as well as the security, it can lead to a renewed push to something interesting.

Yeah but I doubt he will win the world title there. I think he’s got a good shot at having one more big title run in wwe

His goal has been to provide for his family, he probably doesn't care how he'll be booked so long as he's financially sound

Owens is probably more valuable to the WWE than AEW and he used his friendship with the Bucks & Cole as leverage to get paid for it. Try and extract as much money from them as possible, sadly they reportedly didn't give him a no-cut clause so who knows how long he'll stay there until someone new in corporate sees the contract and says he gets paid too much.
