26: Doctor Who and the Silurians (1970) **** 7 25 minute episodes
The Doctor heads to a underground research center to investigate a series of power outings only to discover the Silurians who vow to reclaim planet earth from mankind
The original master tapes of the story were wiped however 16mm B&W telerecordings/kinescopes of the episodes were kept and an edited NTSC standard color version was found and in 1993 the story was restored to color by lifting the colour signal from the NTSC recordings and matching them to the PAL black & white telerecordings

So I loved this. The aesthetic was everything I could want and it takes ideas from/pays homage to so many classic teen movies in the best way possible. Yes, it's over the top and that's actually why it works so well. I feel like I'm gonna end up watching this a lot. [***½]

61. The Lost City
This was so close to being a great movie. Daniel Radcliffe played a delightfully manic villain. Brad Pitt was totally believable as a talented mercenary. Channing Tatum was excellent as the handsome but not overly bright hero. And then Sandra Bullock played Sandra Bullock. The complete lack of chemistry between the leads just sucked the life out of an otherwise entertaining movie.

65. They Came from Beyond Space (1967) 66. Major League: Back to the Minors (1998)67. Buffy the Vampire Slayer (1992) 68. Morbius (2022)Found this streaming on Netflix. I wanted to catch this in theaters earlier this year, but after the initial horrible reviews came back I just couldn't bring myself to going out for it. I really wanted to like this, I really really did. I feel Marvel should be making more movies that spotlight secondary, forgotten and obscure characters. But this sucked. It was like a super-serious Venom movie with none of the intentional goofiness that made Venom fun. It did have a ton of unintentional goofiness that made it awkward though. Mostly though it was just boring, with an uninspired script that felt more like it was based on superhero movies from twenty years ago then anything being made today. What a wasted opportunity.

Like the Silurians, color was restored to the story via putting the color signal from a off air NTSC recording into the higher quality 16mm telerecording/kinescope. This story introduces the Master

30: Doctor Who: The Mind Of Evil (1971, 6 25 minute episodes) ****
Watched it on Blu-ray and the color restoration situation for this story was to say the least extraordinary, the 1st part of the story had no chromadot info preventing chromodot color recovery from being done for part 1 so it was manually colorized, the rest of the story was restored via the chromadot colour recovery method

This movie doesn't do anything new with the "ragtag underdog" group story but that's fine because if it ain't broke don't fix it. There are lovable performances, emotional moments, and likable characters. [***]

Jordan Peele delivers again and I was blown away by this. Somehow he manages to do a cowboys vs. aliens horror movie that works on so many levels and he infuses it with relevant social commentary. Top it off with a blockbuster feel, fantastic tension building, and great chemistry from Palmer and Kaluuya and this is incredible. [****½]

66. Major League: Back to the Minors (1998)67. Buffy the Vampire Slayer (1992) 68. Morbius (2022) 69. StarCrash (1978)I stumbled across this on YouTube and figured I'd give it a go. For those not familiar, this is a really low budget space adventure movie made to try to cash in on the popularity of Star Wars at the time. Caroline Munro is Stella Star, who, in her leather space bikini and go-go boots, is sent on a mission by the Emperor of the Galaxy to lead a team to stop the evil Count Zarth Arn's new super-weapon and rescue the Emperor's son Simon (DAVID HASSELHOFF!!!). Now this is the kind of movie I was expecting from those Elvira movies I watched a few weeks back. The story is ridiculous. The acting is horrible. When The Hoff is acting circles around you then you know you're in trouble. The special effects looked like they might've been passable in a B-movie from ten years earlier, but in a post-Star Wars world they don't even come close to cutting it. The models actually look quite good and are quite detailed, but they are so poorly incorporated into the film that they never look like anything other then miniature models. The hand-to-hand fights are actually pretty decent once you get past the overuse of the Jim Kirk judo chop. This was bad, but it was bad in a fun way.

129. Avatar (2009) - Saw this in theaters. With the new one coming out, especially after I first saw the trailer for it earlier this year, I knew I had to revisit this film. It had been more than 12 and a half years since I watched it, and I am aware that this movie was big at the turn of the decade going from 2009 to 2010. I am aware that it was a major hit at the box office back then. I had made a point to watch it, but I didn't get around to it, and then I found out that there were other versions that I may check out before "Avatar: The Way of Water" comes out.
I must note that I saw this in IMAX 3D. With this being re-released in theaters, I thought it would be a good idea to see it this way, and I will say that it was worth watching in 3D. I don't know why I didn't watch it that way back then, but the visuals were stunning in 3D. Yes, the visuals were already great to look at as the Na'vi looked realistic. The visuals were stunning and were also a major factor in its initial praise. Also, the 3D effects were good with some things appearing in the foreground, as well as some scenes with some actors appearing in the foreground or if the camera's focus shifts on them. The same could be said about the subtitles when some characters spoke in their native language.
Also, I remember having fun with the big climactic action scene and it still holds up. James Cameron always delivered when it came to doing action. The performances were fine. I felt the chemistry between Sam Worthington and Zoe Saldana. Stephen Lang always plays a good villain.
I enjoyed this movie. I liked it when I saw it back then and still do, but I wouldn't say that I loved this movie. I am looking forward to the new film, though I may want to watch the special edition and the extended edition sometime before the sequel comes out. Also, this re-release also included a sneak peak at the new one. So I guess I am excited for it.

This has some obvious pacing issues (the first half feels like a bunch of things thrown together to make you uncomfortable/show how the protagonist is feeling) but I think this really comes together after the twist. I know some people didn't like it but it ties things up. Also, Florence Pugh is flawless. [****]

You forgot the Marjoe Gortner character, the super-Jedi who apparently had the magical mystical power to help and just... doesn't... because of fate or something. (It's been a while since I've seen this but I remember him being over-powered and yet still a non-factor in anything)
