Perhaps I should have tried that instead of having a bit of my spine removed and then getting screws inserted to put it back together to fix my curving spine. It didn't work. So, anyone want to volunteer to become the Bane to my Batman? Clearly, sir, you've fallen victim to the fraud that is "modern medicine." What you clearly needed was an old, vaguely eastern European man with knuckles as hard as iron and a give-no-f***s attitude. Modern medicine can screw it, pun intended. They put titanium screws on my back and I expected to be one step closer to a cyborg, and reality is just a vague feeling that my spine is more vulnerable now. I need that vaguely eastern European man. ...and I didn't get to keep the piece of my back they took out. So long as we're talking nonsense about fighting Bane, apparently hundreds or thousands of cops were not only somehow still alive but in immediate fighting shape after having been trapped underground for months. What? Probably trained themselves when they were trapped. I mean, what else are they gonna do down there? Starve to death or write sad poems?

So long as we're talking about nonsense in Dark Knight Rises... - Bruce gets his ass kicked by Bane, has his back broken. - Bruce gets punched in the back, after much struggle is able to climb a rope. - Bruce can now beat Bane. this just reminds me of Man of Steel. Not really a plot hole as just literally ruining your own plot for no real reason... one of the big conflicts of the movie is about how Clark son of the scientist class can't possibly beat military genius soldier man bred for generations to be best at military genius soldiering... (whose plans are... really f***ing stupid and most of his actions like go against what we are told he obsessively wants?) That's fine I guess... a nature/nurture type thing... cool... but if you're doing that... don't have Jor-el beat the shit out of Zod in the opening... it sorta RUINS THE ENTIRE POINT.

I mean, the story was written by Christopher Nolan and David S. Goyer, fresh off their work on Dark Knight Rises. That's a sure sign things aren't going to be good. It might have been salvaged by a director with a modicum of storytelling common sense, but they went and got this guy: ![](https://i.pinimg.com/originals/60/f3/bb/60f3bbe2d5e76a9e7eb7ca39457d28e2.gif)

Well, that's quite the job interview. the story that I believe Nolan said was true... was something along the lines of Snyder kept talking about how Superman didn't make sense and Goyer agreeing with him and them basically pestering Nolan for his opinion while he was... like... trying to direct...

Jesus. I can't imagine how insufferable it must be to be caught between Goyer and Snyder.

I like how this thread has become how TDKR is nonsensical.
Not a plot hole or anything, but Bruce falling for Catwoman after she robs him several times, steals his Lambo, and sets him up to get his ass kicked by Bane is just something I couldn't buy.

I've seen the explanation be "He didn't break his back, he just had a slipped vertebrae." But 1, the movie doesn't say that and 2, the treatment still isn't "punch it back into place."

Ah yes, that well-known, tried and tested treatment for a severe spinal fracture with displaced discs: punching the bones back into place. Perhaps I should have tried that instead of having a bit of my spine removed and then getting screws inserted to put it back together to fix my curving spine. It didn't work. So, anyone want to volunteer to become the Bane to my Batman? What you need to do, is fall backwards onto a trash can to fix it straight up, just like Homer did.

Nolan flat out told Phil Lord and Chris Miller when they were brought in for rewrited that he didn't give a shit about explaining how Wayne got from the Pit to Gotham in 2-3 days because "he's Bruce Wayne." My personal theory is that Nolan lost passion for the series after Heath Ledger's passing, so he just greenlit everything that didn't have to do with scene direction.

He flat out said he didn't want to do a third one after the Dark Knight. In fact, the Dark Knight was originally two movies he fused into one because he didn't want to make a third Batman movie. (Basically Dark Knight would have ended with Harvey becoming Two Face, and the third would be a Two Face Movie) But Dark Knight making all of the money and awards basically meant that WB was going to make him do a third one.

Aye. Dark Knight Rises is about as close as it gets to Contractually Obligated: The Motion Picture. Nolan wanted to make Inception, a movie he'd been pitching to Warner Bros. since 2001, and eventually they basically said, "Okay, we'll green light it, but you have to make another Batman movie right after."

DKR taught me that it takes eight years and a special harness to heal a bad leg but a broken back can be healed within six months of back punches.

If we’ve established that somebody needs to jack you into the Matrix, how can Cypher meet with Smith without anybody else knowing?

If we’ve established that somebody needs to jack you into the Matrix, how can Cypher meet with Smith without anybody else knowing? In a deleted scene it was shown that's what Cypher was working on when he swaps monitors.
