The New York Post is trash and panders to the kind of people who'd love to see this kind of movie crash and burn. So I'd take it with a grain of salt until confirmed by more reputable sources. Just updated with The Wrap article, although I see I'm not alone.

Huh, didn’t see that one coming. Especially with Keaton being in the movie

I'm sure starting to wonder if Warner Bros Discovery is about to give up entirely on live-action content from DC, tbh. Seems weird to just completely shelf something.

Throw it all away, cut ties with anything related to the current mess. Wait a few years, start over with an actual plan.
And if anyone utters the word Snyder, fire them and blackball them from the industry.

That sounds like an utterly insane decision this late into production.

PR stunt, they will "reluctantly" release it after media pressure and it'll make decent money on the curiosity 'how bad can it be?' viewings alone. Studios play the audiences like fiddles these days, I swear 95% of "outrages" over casting/storyline changes are studio led and created. T Khan had a point about bots whipping up all this stuff.

What is going to happen to the footage shot for Batgirl? Incorporate some of it to The Flash/Aquaman 2, also feel bad for the actress playing Batgirl, guessing the only time we'll get to see (or hear) her as Batgirl would be in a likely series finale of Teeb Titans Go

I could maybe, maybe buy this if they didn’t right away shelve the Scoob sequel. And they had, like, nowhere near the same amount of…anything. This is dumb merger stuff. Emphasis on dumb. If the thing is done, just release it for content for your damn streaming service.

Zaslav wants all DC movies to be Avengers-level pictures, so I figure they'll incorporate her into a Bat-Family movie or a team up with Supergirl.

That sounds like an utterly insane decision this late into production. Yeah, it's basically done... it's wrapped... which probably just means it needs the effect shots (and for Batgirl I doubt there are as heavy as most other DC movies) PR stunt, they will "reluctantly" release it after media pressure and it'll make decent money on the curiosity 'how bad can it be?' viewings alone. Studios play the audiences like fiddles these days, I swear 95% of "outrages" over casting/storyline changes are studio led and created. T Khan had a point about bots whipping up all this stuff. If the thing is done, just release it for content for your damn streaming service. Yeah, AT&T panicked and shelved a bunch of shit and cut budgets when HBO max flopped... and then Discovery is apparently now learning just what a shit show it really was behind the scenes and is freaking out too.

I say screw it and bring her(and Brendan Fraser's Firefly, because Brendan deserves nothing but wins going forward in life) into the Reevesverse at the very least.

Just to add as well, Glasgow’s contribution to the film was £150,000 at a time when it was trying to attract bigger productions and something they never did before.
That easily could have gone into literally anything else and they can’t even use it for tourism purposes now.

They've reportedly canned the $40 million Scooby Doo movie too, so I'm more inclined to believe the reports and it's WB being weird again.
I don't know how a movie can get all the way through test screenings before a studio decides it's not worth it. You'd think that would have been picked up way before this stage. DC movies should be an absolute slam dunk for WB but they keep screwing them up.

Definitely. I mean, Deadline just put out a story over the weekend about how Discovery are looking to make $3 billion in budget cuts, with one exec quoted as saying they've "never seen someone come in and look to just outright gut a company like this." I expect to see no more than one or two huge DC movies per year going forward, with smaller movies and shows being quietly cancelled.

On a macro level, this must look to shareholders like another example of WarnerMedia running around like a chicken with it's head cut off, and at a time when the new leadership is supposed to be correcting the course on just that.
On a micro level, I can't help but feel for Batgirl fans. Feels like Barbara Gordon is always getting the short end of the stick.

This sucks. I was looking forward to it as between the supporting cast and the costume design, it was taking inspiration from one of my favorite Batgirl eras.
Discovery's CEO came in with the reputation of being ruthless about this sorta thing. It seems his reputation precedes him.

DC movies should be an absolute slam dunk for WB but they keep screwing them up. If I'm reading this right, this is the second round of screenings. They did a bunch of reshoots after the first round to address the problems highlighted, only for the movie to test even worse. Zaslav being as notoriously cheap as he is seemingly would rather write off $70 million than throw even more money at fixing something he openly doesn't see value in.
