Throw it all away, cut ties with anything related to the current mess. Wait a few years, start over with an actual plan. And if anyone utters the word Snyder, fire them and blackball them from the industry. Late to replying to this but I say this with no disrespect intended; Who gives a f***? A bunch of people lost months of their lives and their jobs, a city lost money that could have gone to other resources and fans of the character feel disrespected again. Who gives a flying f*** about Zack Snyder in all this?

On a macro level, this must look to shareholders like another example of WarnerMedia running around like a chicken with it's head cut off, and at a time when the new leadership is supposed to be correcting the course on just that. On a micro level, I can't help but feel for Batgirl fans. Feels like Barbara Gordon is always getting the short end of the stick. Which should make you really feel bad for Cassie and Steph fans ![:P](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/tongue.png) at Least Babs is usually offered a stick >->

Unfortunately, it's in that Gotham Knights CW show that looks absolutely atrocious.

I'm going to go to the Warner Bros Studio Store and pre-order it so that they have to finish it.

Yet they're sticking to their guns with another movie starring a certain wackjob as the title character.

Reading more into it, the $70 million was spent by WarnerMedia, a company that no longer exists. Warner Bros Discovery has not spent a penny on Batgirl, and have decided that they do not intend to spend anything on it, hence the cancellation. Similarly, Warner Bros Discovery haven't yet spent any money on The Flash. All associated costs were covered by WarnerMedia prior to the Discovery merger, so it is entirely possible that Flash also ends up cancelled with no financial loss on WBD's part.

I still think they’d be making a pretty big mistake to just leave Michael Keaton’s Batman on the cutting room floor entirely. That would cause a lot of ill will from the people who see these things.

So this movie may possibly be a contributing factor in my trash not being picked up?

All I know is that lost media is not cool. INTENTIONALLY lost media is even more not cool. Cobble together an edit and shove it on HBO Max with no fanfare. The footage being lost to time sucks ass.

I'm definitely curious to see Keaton's footage. Between this and The Flash, his return to the role is seemingly cursed. I think we know who to blame. {Spoiler} ![](https://i.imgur.com/D0yAwlh.jpg)

If they were concerned about ill will or optics, they probably wouldn't have cancelled their only project helmed by a woman of color two weeks after the competition dropped a stunning trailer for a movie that will center around Black women, to say nothing about all of the people looking forward to seeing Brendan Frasier in this.

From all indications, this movie sounds like an unbelievable pile of garbage and now I have to see it to fully comprehend how bad it must have been for Warner Bros. Discovery to take a $90 million bath on it to not even bother hiding it on their streaming service.

I don't know how a movie can get all the way through test screenings before a studio decides it's not worth it. You'd think that would have been picked up way before this stage. DC movies should be an absolute slam dunk for WB but they keep screwing them up. If I'm reading this right, this is the second round of screenings. They did a bunch of reshoots after the first round to address the problems highlighted, only for the movie to test even worse. Zaslav being as notoriously cheap as he is seemingly would rather write off $70 million than throw even more money at fixing something he openly doesn't see value in. That makes sense. I also read that Zaslav wants all future DC movies to be big "event" movies and a (relatively) cheap and bad movie that goes straight to HBO Max doesn't fit that vision.

What is going to happen to the footage shot for Batgirl? Incorporate some of it to The Flash/Aquaman 2, also feel bad for the actress playing Batgirl, guessing the only time we'll get to see (or hear) her as Batgirl would be in a likely series finale of Teeb Titans Go From the sounds of it they'll use her again in a bigger production. Zaslav wants all DC movies to be Avengers-level pictures, so I figure they'll incorporate her into a Bat-Family movie or a team up with Supergirl. As an aside, here's the planned slate of DCEU projects going forward (from Wikipedia, FWIW): Films: The Amazons, Black Canary, Booster Gold, Deadshot, Gotham City Sirens, Green Lantern Corps, Metal Men, Nightwing, Plastic Man, Static Shock, Supergirl, Wonder Woman 3, Zatanna TV: Justice League Dark, Madame X, and untitled series for Amanda Waller, John Constantine, The Suicide Squad, and Val-Zod They might as well stamp DOA on about 90% of that slate, because if Zaslav doesn't have faith in a member of the Bat Family (which might be Warner's most reliable brand at this point), then there's no way in hell he's moving forward in production on Madame Xanadu and Plastic Man. Out of the entire list, I have faith in Wonder Woman 3 making it to theaters. Apart from that, hope you like Batman and Joker, because that's all they have faith in. EDIT: List doesn't include the four blockbusters going forward (Black Adam, Shazam 2, Aquaman 2, The Flash) or Blue Beetle. Also doesn't include the proposed sequels for The Batman and Joker, neither of which is considered part of the DCEU.

You can't have Avengers Endgame level movies all the time. Marvel knows this. They have smaller films that build up to the big event. Marvel has been taking the steps to set up the big event that's still 4 years away. WB/DC still have no idea what their doing and now you add Discovery idiocy on top of that.
