Really, it's Warner Media in general. A lot of rapid shifts in directions are happening where long-running shows on TNT and TBS are being axed, projects and shows are being stopped and axed for Cartoon Network and Adult Swim and no doubt this won't be the last we hear about shifts in what Warner Bros themselves wants to do with their movie projects. It's likely going to get worse before it gets better across the board. f***ing bean counters ruin everything

It's been said before, but the DCEU really failed frim the get go because they lack a Kevin Feige. The tone of the first films, poor planning, studio interference, it's been real highs and lows.

On what grounds? He's already been paid. As shitty as it is, it's not vastly different from an actor getting cut from a movie in the final edit. If The Flash gets cancelled and he has theatrical release points in his contract, he could potentially sue, as ScarJo did with Black Widow. But for a direct-to-streaming movie? I can't imagine there's much of a case to make. The damage to his career of being cut from one film and having another thrown into a hole, and possibly a second one, in addition to the time wasted where he could have made movies people actually got to see. He's Michael Keaton not some kid waiting for their big break. He'll be fine.

Ever notice how someone always says "best person for the job" whenever someone challenges a diversity hires but never when it's the opposite?
Funny that.

Seeing Warner continually screw up their DC properties never fails to amaze and depress me. For some reason, I've never been able to get into the MCU, but I've always loved DC characters and their world. I don't think I've fully loved a DC live-action movie since The Dark Knight trilogy though, and that feels like a century ago (I did like The Batman though)
I don't have faith that Zaslav and the new crew are going to be the right people for DC either.

Honestly it's frustrating because when DC is on point I feel like they completely outclass Marvel but for like the last 20 years, in all mediums, DC has rarely ever been on point.

About the Bat brand being "safe"...yeah Batman proper, but would Batgirl prove that not even the Bat Family is immune to Discovery's powers?

WB don't know what they are doing. Let the DCU rest for a few years, Call Marvel, ask them to take creative control and create a crossover universe for Phase 7 or 8.

Our local news had a story about it and how it impacts businesses in Glasgow where it was largely filmed. The report stuck with the 'poor test screenings' side of the story rather than the tax write-off issue.

This seems hugely screwed up at all levels. Like, lots of people across the board making bad decisions, from production to filming to the executive level. I'm slightly reminded of that Palicki Wonder Woman fiasco from 2011, but that was never intended as a theatrical release, always a tv show. and the Palicki Wonder Woman thing was a pilot, not a full series. Which is completely different from a film that has been fully completed filming...

Has social media started a "release the Batgirl Cut" campaign yet?

"Far from finished" catches my eye, given otherwise it was sounding like not just in post-production but pretty close to ready. Perhaps the cost would've ended up higher still than reported so far, enough to make them concerned. Still seems a strange situation, even if that is the case. It feels, moreover, that the other shoe is still to drop on all this.

Filming was wrapped b8t there's still editing and post production to do to make a movie a movie.
They can take a while especially depending on how many takes they shot as director.
They also apparently dropped it on the day one of the two directors was busy getting married... so I'm sure that was a lovely surprise.
