Filming was wrapped b8t there's still editing and post production to do to make a movie a movie. They can take a while especially depending on how many takes they shot as director. They also apparently dropped it on the day one of the two directors was busy getting married... so I'm sure that was a lovely surprise. Wow, they pulled a "WWE fires CM Punk" move.

Never really watched anything DC related outside Batman/Joker movies but the fact they’re shelving this after being $90m into it piques my interest a little

Has social media started a "release the Batgirl Cut" campaign yet? Yup. Sadly, as explained on the previous page, if they choose to write off the film, then they won't be able to legally release the film in anyway that makes them money, whether that be on film or streaming site. Which means, without invoking you know what outside of its containment thread, this particular campaign is sort of dead in the water, barring some sort of miracle.

After phase 6 of the MCU, something happens, a rift in the fabric of spacetime (a giant glowing CGI thing) causes a wave of big energy thing (more glowing CGI) to sweep across the world. This has two effects. First, it triggers genetic mutations among humanity, thus explaining the emergence of the X Men, and opens more of the multiverse, allowing crossovers, specifically Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman, Aquaman, Supergirl, the Green Lantern, the Flash and the Martian Manhunter, to also appear, each in their own movie. Now naturally, since superheroes cross over, that must also mean villains will also, and they do, namely, Lex Luthor, General Zod, Sinestro, and the Joker, with their imminent arrivals teased in mid and post credits scenes that audiences will cheer. Lesser DC and Marvel characters will also appear in movies together if they aren't popular enough to justify their own films.
There, no more WB botching.

Given the new boss guessing it's very unlikely we're seeing much of the Bat Family onscreen any time soon seeing as Jason's pretty much the only one of them that's a straight white guy.

I prefer a scenario where the damn company is dead, and nobody gives a f*** anymore and thus people can just release it.

People saying “They’ll bring it out eventually”…how? It being a tax write-off means that they can’t air it, they can’t sell it to a Netflix or somewhere else to air it themselves and they can’t do anything with it because it technically never happened. So unless you know something I don’t, the only way this thing is coming out is if someone leaks it.

Has social media started a "release the Batgirl Cut" campaign yet? Yup. No no no....they need to form a cult that bullies people on Twitter. That should work. Oh wait, it already did.

I wonder if they even had any intention of releasing the film, or if they just did it for copyright reasons. They've done stuff like that before (see the 1993 Fantastic Four film and the Blazing Saddles tv series).

Simmons and other big name actors.

The 1993 FF movie was made because the rights holders had to make a movie or the rights reverted back to Marvel. WB does not have that problem.

Some silly bastards, you know the ones, are trying to now rail against a "Batgirl Cult" as if that's a thing.

Between that last sentence and what one of the animators from the SCOOB sequal had to say about hearing the cancellation online after working himself to near burnout on the animation, one has to wonder why any creative would work for WB/Discovery after this.

Only so many jobs out there. Hopefully everyone got paid ok. Should be all upfront and no profit pay since it was all for streaming. Like that old question. Would you rather be paid well for work that is unappreciated or paid crap for work people love?
