Kamen Rider Hibiki's infamous retooling.
For those unfamiliar, Hibiki was a rather different show compared to what Kamen Rider had been since it's celebrated revival in 2000 with Kamen Rider Kuuga.
Problem was, it simply wasn't delivering in ratings or toy sales.
So as of episode 29 of its 48-episode run, a whole new crew was brought in, including the notorious Toshiki Inoue brought in as the new head writer, and you can tell.
Ask any diehard Hibiki fan, and it's like the show stopped after 28 episodes.

I got a new one...
Spring Baking Championship.
This season when they introduced this Molly Yeh as new host. First, she's inexperienced some times, tries too hard others. But the show has changed around her.
Seems like the editing is stingier, lot more shorter segments.
They now have Great British Bake Off style diagrams to explain the dishes.
Judging isn't as comprehensive.
And did I mention that every other scene is Molly mugging for the camera? Not only that, but getting to know the contestants amounts to, you guessed it, Molly nosing around and asking questions.
The SBC Easter edition is still everything the main show was, almost.

Codename: Kids Next Door seemed on paper like a dumb idea that wouldn't appeal to anyone over 7. Then it developed real continuity, detailed backstories, and real character development to where I was pretty hooked on it during college.
Then for the last 1-2 seasons, they switched writers, and it became full of Russo swerves, left-field plot points, and an unsatisfying ending.

The creative change from Lucas to Disney/JJ Abrams in the mainline Star Wars movies. It's not like Lucas was great at dialog and stuff but the dude at least made original content that completed a story he wanted to tell. If old George made the sequels it might have been batshit crazy with cringe dialog and acting, but it wouldn't have been a bunch of mystery boxes that never get opened and "Somehow Palpatine has returned" as a total asspull in the finale. I don't fully agree with this... since both are bad in different ways. As individual movies I think the Sequels are better, as a TRILOGY the prequels are better. it comes down to do you want a poor story told mostly well (mostly cause looking at you Skywalker)... or a cohesive story told horribly. Disney basically did with Star Wars was basically what Universal and Warner Brothers and countless others did ... make a cinematic universe without actually putting forth the effort to actually like... make it work

The relative little I've seen about the attempted reboot/spinoff prob'ly wouldn't have made things any better, IMO. {Spoiler}Why the hell was Lizzie suddenly an alien?
