The WWE are reportedly going after AEW's sponsors every chance they get, they can and would use it for that no matter how hypocritical it would be to do so. AEW pointing that out wouldn't really undo any damage done. I know it's small but Colt Cabana liked his apology tweet. I don't even 100% believe he couldn't get an AEW job in the future, he basically just needs to show he isn't that guy anymore. He should have addressed this shit years ago though, that's a huge fault. When Edge, Christian and Danielson all were talking on a podcast about how they thought his conspiracy nut stuff was to get under peoples skin...it's probably not a great idea to let people think you really think all that idiotic shit if you don't. I don't know the guy, hopefully he doesn't actually think that stuff but who knows.

I'm not excusing his comments by any means, but yeah this was pretty common knowledge. So who will be next on the "hey I watched a shoot from a decade ago over on Highspots and this person who abuses hard drugs to the point where they are talking to a pedophile about wrestling said something really f***in' stupid." Like, are we gonna talk about AJ Styles using the F word pretty loosely or the N word with a HARD 'er' anytime soon? First I've heard of AJ and racism, but I bring up his homophobia continually and people ignore it because he's a charming country boy with good workrate. When AJ retires, he's going to voice a lot of ugly opinions that'll make people pretend they were never fans and knew he was horrible all along.

AJ gets away with a ton of stuff because he's a top 5 worker of the last 20 years...

Colt and Kendrick have known one another for years so he's bound to be more inclined to be charitable toward him than most, same as Danielson. I think we need to keep in mind this wasn't an angle, something he said on TV playing a character, he made a shoot DVD for money saying this and didn't stop to watch it back before giving the okay for it's release. Think about it, it wasn't a bad take on social media, a slip of the tongue caught on a hot mic, Kendrick was so proud of the stupidity he believes in and it was so widely known it got made into a DVD and sold. He knew it was out there for a decade and only thought to address it long, long after the fact.

The only time I've ever seen him mention it was when he did that interview on Lillian Garcia's podcast in 2017 where he said that they yellow flagged him before the CWC because he said bad things about the company and did an interview about conspiracies because he was young and angry and stupid etc, but it was basically a quick mention where he acted like it was all in the past and he had moved on.

I mean, it's pretty obvious why this is coming up in the news now. Fans genuinely trust AEW to act on these things rather than the Saudi Arabian propoganda machine on the other side.

Like, just to throw something about the Velveteen Dream example, people forgot that it got so consistent in questioning HHH about it, he flat out said in press calls before Takeovers to not ask him about it anymore.
And then there was the whole “Dream’s not here because he’s stressed/was in a car crash/injured” etc which…come on, man.

The testimonials by victims about how Zyklon B was indeed used to delouse clothings should point Kendrick to the right direction - that things were much worse than he could ever imagine. The dead lice were left in the clothings and the prisoners had to put them back on. The very same gas that killed vermin was used to kill people. No decent human being could even fancy playing around such theories.

The fact that the websites of the worst newspapers in the English speaking world are covering this kiiinda makes me suspicious that his recent employer may have reached out to friendly outlets and they had damaging coverage ready and waiting for his debut.

That’s possible too. They’ve been pretty unscrupulous in throwing their former contractors under the bus.

If and I mean if that's true, WWE look like total f***ing scumbags for keeping Kendrick hired while knowing about this and never addressing it for years... which well, shocker right?

Whatever the dude had in-ring, it was gone. Yeeeeah... idk how serious the car crash story is in the end, but that dude worked like he suddenly had neck issues like was reported. He bottomed out pretty hard and the crowds who weren't all following the twitter drama I would think, turned on him for putting on some outright stinkers.

It's odd, because I almost posted about how I didn't want Kendrick to get a job because of his anti semetic views when this thread started, but decided I didn't want to cause issues for the mods. Now that it's out in the open, I have a lot of thoughts to share.
I'm Jewish, and I've literally heard the types of theories that Kendrick said on tape basically my entire life. They're the talking points of the Aryan Nations who had a yearly parade in the town I grew up in. They've certainly been around longer than I have, basically the entire history of Jewish people is being the subject of a conspiracy theory, usually that we secretly rule the world plus we're evil I guess.
Now, as for Kendrick's apology, I certainly hope it's sincere. There are numerous stories of people who used to be in Neo Nazi groups realizing that their beliefs were garbage and dedicating themselves to educating others. While Kendrick wasn't a Neo Nazi per se, he did espouse some of their views under the "gentler" blanket of a conspiracy theory.
The apology does seem hollow since it says he never believed these things. He was recorded saying them, gaining money off the sales of said video. He attended David Icke talks. He said these things numerous times, it's certainly not a one off. I would hope he acknowledges these were his views, though he now finds them embarrassing. He could be helpful in understanding how these beliefs start out and grow. Him speaking to people who are in too deep in conspiracy theories could help them get where I hope he is. Basically, to me, actions speak louder than words.

I'm really sad to hear this.
Been a huge fan of Kendrick for a long time, now I feel like I can't be.
While I can almost accept the apology because this is a clip from ten years ago and these sort of theories online are insidious and it's really easy to get caught up in them, especially if young, isolated on the road and likely under the influence of all sorts - but he still actually bought in to it and that will take time for me to see past.
I hope I can, and I hope others can, but it's likely his career is done now, at least in the 'big 2.'

I mean shit Ronda Rousey has said a bunch of Sandy Hook conspiracy shit, no one care she said it? I'm trying to figure out why there's a double standard. People bring it up about Ronda constantly. WWE doesn't care because she makes money. Chris Jericho and Jake Hager have said and done some horrible shit, but they're still around. Sammy Guevara said he wanted to rape Sasha Banks, and got a suspension. Jordan Devlin is still in WWE. If a company likes you, they'll look past what you've done as long, especially if you make the company money.

Obviously what Brian said was some crazy and awful stuff. But some other wrestlers just saying stuff that half the country doesn't agree with because of their political beliefs doesn't make them awful people. Undertaker and Kane seem to get crap for just having standard beliefs of one side (unless I missed something).

There's...a lot more to Taker and Kane's beliefs then it just being "saying stuff the other half of the country doesn't agree with". And that's all I'll leave it with.

Whether or not it's WWE, AEW, or wherever, the bottom line is the more you are worth to them, the more they will put up with about what you do and say.
