This night just highlights how the mass releases and bad booking have them in a horrible spot. They have no young stars ready to move to the top, most of the matches just felt like nothing but midcard jobbers, the only way anyone matters is to be a part timer because you aren't around enough for them to screw you in booking. This company can not make new stars to save it's life and it becomes really evident when the final 4 of a royal rumble include a singer and shane mcmahon. That mid stretch of the Men's Rumble really highlighted that. I like a lot of the talent, but when the Freddie Mercury guy in a singlet is the one that actually stands out as distinct and closest to a big deal, that's pretty damning.

If you want to put into perspective the damage WWE has done to its female roster, half the entrants in tonight's Rumble weren't active competitors on Raw or SD (and of course none from NXT). That's how gutted things have gotten. Yup. And there rumors that there will be more cuts after Feb. 3rd. The fact that the big women's match will feature Ronda (likely against Charlotte if rumors are true), bodes really poorly. I have a feeling with as bad as Ronda looked upon her return, that her match with Charlotte is going to fall off the rails. Especially since Ronda needs to be heavily scripted, and Charlotte can't carry greener workers, especially if things go off the rails. Meanwhile the rest of the women will just languish in the pre-show battle royal or just not be on the card at all, since the Bellas have already said they want the women's tag titles. I'm sure they're going with the idea that they can have 75% of the NXT roster called up by June and then just move more signings to NXT tv and repeat the process to fill out the main roster while paying less money.

Are they even gonna address who Lesnar took #30 from? It was a Rumble filled with Bad Bunny, Shane McMahon, and JOHNNY KNOXVILLE I doubt he took anyones spot, this Rumble was a wasteland

My highlight was Mickie James with the impact title. The only thing that seemed important to me At least they didn’t eliminate her before the next entrant like a lot of the other non-full time WWE superstars.

Both matches were pretty bad this year. Felt like a “classic” Tumble in the dirt worst ways Women had some decent spots I liked Nikki Cross attacked Molly Holly and the Ivory spot They at least had stuff planned but mens Rumble only had Bad Bunny and Johnny Knoxville

Both were complete dogshit.
The Women's match I don't know where to start. I guess from the beginning..
- Melina eliminated after 30 seconds
- Sasha eliminated early by Zelina
- Half the field taken up by non contracted Women and most of them entered during the 2nd half of the match
- Liv Morgan eliminated by the Bellas. Seriously the "let it play out" liv morgan fans, if this doesn't make you wake up then nothing will. This Woman has mainstream megastar written all over her but she'll sadly never reach her potential in WWE because creative will always let her down. There's a wave of budget cuts coming. The best thing for her career is if she's on that list, seriously
- Charlotte the only full time contracted wrestler made to look strong and no sold her elimination
- Ronda after 3 years out the ring wins the tournament and completely shits on all the Women that have worked their ass off through the pandemic. This is why WWE won't create any new stars.
I'm sure I'm missing things. Feel free to add. This whole match was one big sloppy mess. One of the worst matches I've seen in years

I also thought it was telling that Mickie got nearly the biggest pop in the women’s rumble.

And eliminated a former rival and was eliminated by Lita who she retired so I felt like he appearance was much better thought out than any other former Stars in rumbles

Those matches were just there.
Nothing special or memorable about either of them. Pretty disappointing.

The women's match sucked cause every "legend" got eliminated pretty much right away. And of course Charlotte makes it to the Bottom 2... Why was she there again? She already has a title for christ sake.
As for the men's... Holy shit. What an absolute disaster. By far the worst Rumble match of all time. Why they decided to fill it up with tag team guys and the likes of Madcap Moss, Rick Boogs, Dominic Mysterio and others is beyond me. It was literally full of jobbers.
Then Lesnar came out as we all predicted and ugh... 5 hours of my life I'll never get back. Absolute suck show.

@mysterymystery offered to vicariously message me as he was watching and that felt like the best experience of watching those two Rumbles.
Because in summary…Yeesh.

Imagine if while Steve Austin had busted his ass to get hot.....the WWE brought back Ultimate Warrior and Bruno Sammartino and they went over on him repeadetly...that's where we are.

Also, like, can somebody check on Drew McIntyre? Making the Cena-like miracle recovery to come back months ahead of schedule is dumb enough as it is but doing it for a match where you lose as an afterthought anyway, like, why the f*** would you rush back for that?
