I mean, yeah. Why do you think this shit gets made? "Vince makes the show for him" has been the throughline for years.

They're as creatively bankrupt as I've ever seen them in all the years I've been watching, but they just keep making money. Can't say I'm surprised he feels this way.

He probably should put himself in our shoes (HAHAHA! Like that will ever happen.) A lot of times, I have the show on as background noise while I surf the web while only occasionally seeing something that catches my eye (like Naomi vs Charlotte last Friday) but than again I give the same treatment to other shows even AEW. Also, there are times when I fall asleep while the show is on but that could also be attributed to a long day at work and the gym.

They make money hand over fist and the show is literally made and catered to him.
It is literally the exact thing he has always wanted so no surprise he sees absoloutley nothing wrong.

"A millionaire who should be a billionaire." Of course, he is a billionaire now, but the point stands. TV and streaming contracts and Saudi money might be making up for (and more) the revenue lost as a result of declining viewership over the last 20 years, but how much money would Vince and the company be worth if people loved his product the way they used to? It's staggering to think how much money he leaves on the table while believing he's King Shit.

Ah, so that's why he won't release Mustafa Ali.

He’s making more money than ever. Has the people HE wants at the top of the card. Has only suck ups around him. And with all the big deals WWE has, they’re gonna be set financially for years as long as they put out A product, good or not.
It’s basically what Vince always wanted. Of course he’s happy.
Doesn’t mean that the product doesn’t suck creatively however.

Like why do you think they've put so much into making their show audience-proof? Live events are down, merch is down, ratings are down, but it doesn't matter because they can tell tie-in segments to Netflix and put on shows for brutal regimes who want to go hand-in-hand with propaganda, and none of the people giving them all this money really care about the week to week of anything. It gives Vince the unimpeded freedom to put on whatever he wants with no consequences, and his yes men can keep telling him the fans really do like it and they're hypocrites and he's so right look at how much money they're making of course the hsow is good and great. It's better than ever. It's never been better because his ideas have never been better. It's really sad, actually. WWE right now is increasingly becoming the story of a man whose best years are behind him stubbornly writing a show he's getting worse and worse at making while being uplifted by external factors and a media landscape favorable to the one thing he's still able to do, which is just churn out content on the time frame needed.

Vince is not thinking long term here (he’s 76 years old and looks rough, so maybe he doesn’t have to). He’ll possibly be dead and gone by the time the bottom starts falling out.
Now if some of his top stars start going away, THAT might be the one thing that makes him start to take notice.

Now if some of his top stars start going away, THAT might be the one thing that makes him start to take notice. Vince is literally banking on finding his next megastar before he dies on the job or just is pushed out the door because he can no longer do the job IMO hence why he has no care about firing all these talents that could have easily carried his company into the future and making him even more money. He has always been a singular thinker...he wants HIS next megastar and damned everyone else. But with a viable alternative and other smaller ones popping up ...if he can't plug up the holes he has created with new stars and he tries to go crawling back to those he fired and they say no then he is f***ed because at the end of the day he can make as much money as he wants....but if those seats in arenas get emptier and emptier because all the talent he has left is Von Wafer he is done. I have said this before but if anything is going to crumble this company despite all the money it is going to be because of their absoloutle inability to engage and entertain people with anything creative.

All I can really do as a fan is watch and hope they realize they can probably afford to take some risks with the product. They're going to make their money either way IMO.
It won't happen, but hey, call me an eternal optimist. I don't hate watch.

The main event scene is a bunch of jerk heel champions who hold their belts forever and the only people on their level are MMA guys, of course Vince is thrilled. Dude gets to book his favorite feud Brock vs. Reigns as long as he wants, AND it doesn't matter if the fans like it or not (or even have any reaction whatsoever) because of all his deals, this is peak wrestling to him.

I'm going to laugh my ass off when they do a top ten list of the greatest rivalries in WWE history or whatever five years from now and Roman vs. Brock tops it.

He would have booked Hulk & Andre in the main event for an additional ten years if he could have. He'd still be doing Cena & Orton too. He's at this point just looking at this from a dollars and cents POV. Peacock is reporting record streams from a lukewarm royal rumble. He doesn't care if it was lukewarm unless the results change. He would only change if TK somehow snatched his top talent and their numbers start cratering.

Vince is a businessman first and foremost, and a wrestling promoter second. Sometimes those two things are interchangeable, but oftentimes they're not.
The Vince that likes wrestling would book it very differently, but Vince the businessman wins out and recognizes that he's making bank no matter what, so shit on a plate would suffice.
