Hmm, still no post-show Gadget. Hopefully she's not a mastermind to this.
Peter Pan being the villain is an interesting take on things...

Hmm, still no post-show Gadget. Hopefully she's not a mastermind to this. Peter Pan being the villain is an interesting take on things... They can ape Once Upon A Time ideas but not use its actors on live action remakes, go fig. Alvin and the Chipmunks eh? If you really wanted to piss them off...mention the Goofy Gophers. Voices were put-ons confirmed. So we have a Gumby expy now? Gadget turning heel would be the animation equivalent of Goldberg in 2000. Still hope we get a traditional RR series out of this. Question...if the Rangers were just TV heroes, what is Flash the Wonder Dog, then?

Meanwhile, the Asylum is hard at work on the Happy Hamsters revival film. Nutty Squirrels anyone? Goofy Gophers: A New Legacy. 2023 on HBO Max!

Sure it will be mentioned in the final film..
But they don’t seem to be mentioning that Chip n Dale have been around far longer then the Rescue Rangers show.
Gonna have a guess here, but there maybe a cameo by old acquaintance of the duo… a certain no pants wearing sailor;)

Gonna have a guess here, but there maybe a cameo by old acquaintance of the duo… a certain no pants wearing sailor;) What kinks are Popeye and Olive now into?!!? Well yeah, I get a lot of us are ancient here, and most viewers' earliest memories are of Rescue Rangers, but I answered that opening spiel with "...or you know them from shorts way before the '80s that you probably at least saw on The Disney Channel. And more should REALLY be on Disney+ right now." This smacks of Sony insisting that Wheel of Fortune didn't exist until the syndication heyday. And now, actually... Possible {Spoiler}{Spoiler}{Spoiler}{Spoiler}{Spoiler}{Spoiler} :
So help me, but that Pluto twist that's been rumored makes sense, given that besides Donald, he was another one of CnD's favorite victims in their original incarnation. If Donald joined him in a kind of Chip 'n' Dale Revenge Squad, I might forgive the movie for that.
Plus I'll take that over the other rumor: the unexplained, unneeded, unwanted Gadget heel turn.
But if CnD are just TV characters, and Pluto and Donald were only their rivals on TV (or film, as it were), are they really rivals? Or did Pluto/Donald get jealous of always losing, and is pulling a Zeus from No Holds Barred? Ah Russo writing, you make things so easy to follow!

I dunno if we really need spoilers if we're speculating, but to be safe... {Spoiler}Joke answer: they turn Gadget heel to mess with that cult in Russia for her.
As for the characters of Chip 'n Dale, one unexplored theory is that there are at least two separate versions: the shorts version that messed with Donald and Pluto (and one time Pete), and the RR versions who were modeled after the shorts version but lead their own lives. I mean after all, with reboot culture being what it is today, they could use that as a minor jab at it.

But...were the shorts CnD just actors too? If so did they idolize the real chipmunks or the characters? Dale would seem more likely to do the latter; remember him believing in Flash the Wonder Dog. Are they the RR CnD's fathers/uncles, ala Cranky and Donkey Kong? Don't get me started on CnD's own ambiguous relationship and how that may complicate explaining their bloodline.
And now you're making me crave a Chip 'n' Dale: No Way Home movie. The original shorts versions. The Rescue Rangers. Nutty Tales (here's where you get the CGI gags in). The 2D eyesores in Park Life. The unnamed, mute intelligent rodents who aren't the Rescue Rangers but totally are who lived in 2017 Duckburg. I dunno...guys from Disneyland/Walt Disney World in suits. Pixelated NES CnD? Strike a deal with Warner Bros and have the Goofy Gophers cameo only for all the Chips and Dales to Godzilla: Final War them into oblivion. Since Disney technically owns the live action Alvin-verse, do the same to that Alvin, Simon, and Theodore. Why am I not getting THIS movie?!!?
Non-spoiler hot take: Bonkers should have gotten this movie's plot instead. He does live in Toontown after all.

Bit of a controversy going on right now with the Peter Pan character as some people think this is disrespectful to Bobby Driscoll, the actor who voiced Peter Pan and died at age 31 due to drug abuse.

I mean…he’s clearly a mafia boss figure. It’s pretty obvious that’s what they’re going for. Like, unless we see him do drugs, which I’m going to say with 100% confidence won’t happen, I think that’s a stretch. If anything, what people should be asking is between this and some of The Proud Family return…the f*** did the Lizzie Maguire return do to get axed?

Supposedly it's not Pan, but another character. Wonder what people thought of his OUAT incarnation then?

And the human star is named Ellie.
Replace those "L's" with "D's," and what they're going for becomes even less mysterious. (And of course, Rescue Rangers = RR, as in...you know.)

So a 4chan poster claims to have seen this. Take it with a grain of salt though... According to this: {Spoiler}- Pluto = villain is true. Complete with HIGH-larious, totally fresh joke about him being jealous that Goofy gets to walk on two feet and talk.
- Pluto having a Frankentoon machine is also true.
- When Pluto is defeated, he is taken away in a dog pound truck by...The Weasels from Roger Rabbit. As if we needed more reminders what this was really meant to be.
- Remember I said Gadget would either 1) Be the villain, 2) Have some reference to the Russian cult story, or 3) Something that embraces fans thinking she was hot? Well, according to the report, the answer is...#3. Because Gadget was kidnapped and forced to work for Pluto when she was a stuntperson for Scarlett Johansen. Yes, including her wearing a Black Widow costume.

"Remember me, Ellie? When I killed your sister, I talked...just...like...thiiiiiiiis!!!" (meant to evoke a very deep voice)
