I would also count when Johnny Carson appeared on Dave's CBS show. I know Johnny was done with the Tonight Show by then but he was Mr. NBC for decades.

I would also count when Johnny Carson appeared on Dave's CBS show. I know Johnny was done with the Tonight Show by then but he was Mr. NBC for decades. Dave was Johnny’s choice. Makes sense he’d show up for Dave, especially since how Leno and his manager ran Johnny off anyway.

Beavis and Butthead on Family Guy. Family Guy on The Simpsons (or was it vice-versa?). Do you one better, Beavis and Butt-Head on Step By Step.

ET's species (and ET himself possibly) in The Phantom Menace. Elliot had Star Wars toys and they encounter a trick n treating Yoda costume in the film. So ET exists both in the universe where Star Wars is real and the one where it began inside Lucas' head. Well... isn't Star Wars portrayed as existing in the same universe as "the real world"?

A legit Forbidden Door thing. An ad for Cartoon Network on Nickelodeon.

They desperately wanted Conan in that ad (this was just after The Tonight Show fiasco concluded) but he shot them down immediately.

Another technicality, long expired UK soap Brookside had an Irish/Liverpool family called the Musgroves, when the family left the soap, middle son Matt stayed behind and went to do a college course in Chester, namely at Hollyoaks Community College. What makes it a technicality is both shows were/are shown on Channel 4 and were created by Phil Redmond

Urkel appearing on an episode of Full House. And also Step By Step. The weird thing about this is that when the jetpack episode first aired, it showed Urkel flying out of out Chicago and landing in the Lamberts' backyard. It then had the Urkel episode of Step By Step afterwards. However, the scene of him landing in Port Washington wasn't included in syndicated reruns.

Alvin and the Chipmunks meet Mr. T AND Dolly Parton.
The New Scooby Movies exists because of this trope too.
