If he'd appeared and was explicitly identified as Cosmo Kramer on, say, Murphy Brown, *that* might qualify. Did you choose this on purpose

I don't think even Supergirl and the Flash is really a "forbidden door." The networks were different at the time, but the production companies were the same and of course they're both DC properties. Supergirl appearing on Marvel's Jessica Jones--that's a real forbidden door.

Removed my previous example because I forgot The Simpsons is a Disney prop now. So while weird it doesn't fit because they're both under the same thumb.

Did you choose this on purpose No? I picked a '90s sitcom that was on CBS. There was an entire episode about Kramer appearing on an episode of Murphy Brown when he moved to LA, that's some weird luck

Off the subject, but I always thought that sequence was backwards. Bart would never give R&S the time of day--even if the cartoons filled two different niches of sorts with grossout humor vs. violence, he's an Itchy & Scratchy loyalist to the max. Yet he's the one shown watching R&S while Homer and Pepe are watching I&S. It should have been the other way around. That reminds me, a real telling moment was that one time Marge said when was the last time anyone talked about Ren and Stimpy. John K. was not a guy I imagine a lot of the crew of Simpsons had a lot of respect for at that stage, plus, yeah, harsh but accurate to an extent. Ren and Stimpy's fall in relevance was a pretty dramatic one at the time.

Ren and Stimpy showing up in The Simpsons. As a huge R&S fan back in the day, that blew my mind. Off the subject, but I always thought that sequence was backwards. Bart would never give R&S the time of day--even if the cartoons filled two different niches of sorts with grossout humor vs. violence, he's an Itchy & Scratchy loyalist to the max. Mister Rogers appearing on Sesame Street, and Big Bird on MRN, vice versa.
Not sure if this won't count for the same reasons Simpsons/Family Guy doesn't count, or Laff-a-Lympics, but...if or when characters from BBC Ghosts appear on the CBS version.

Friends had a couple, like the Mad About You cast members visiting Central Perk.

Friends had a couple, like the Mad About You cast members visiting Central Perk. Technically, Friends was the one who entered the Mad About Youverse first. Lisa Kudrow played Ursula on MAY years before Friends started, I don't even think they intended on having the characters be related until they needed to use MAY to boost the ratings for Friends

Beavis and Butthead on Family Guy. Family Guy on The Simpsons (or was it vice-versa?).

If you think about it, wasn't Cartoon Network like opening the Forbidden Door? Because they aired EVERYTHING. Plus the station IDs often included crossovers. Yeah, it was all properties Turner controlled to an extent, but then you have things like Freakazoid driving Barney's car or Scrappy Doo interacting with the Cartoon Cartoon characters.

Sonic The Hedgehog appearing in Smash Brothers Brawl and the Olympic games with Mario. For the longest time, I nevewr thought I would see those two in the same game.

Of course later George and Susan are watching Mad About You. Maybe it exists in their universe like Stallone as Terminator in Last Action Hero.

Not really the same thing, as it was more of a cheeky easter egg, but still worth a mention: Yeah, that was ILM (who did the SFX for Star Trek First Contact) being cheeky.
In a similar vein, Star Wars did a couple of its own easter eggs in the prequels. Episode I had E.T.'s people represented in the Galactic Senate.

Yes they are under the same banner BUT the ammount of red tape that Warner put up to make sure the movies and tv shows never crossed over including making sure the same character never appeared in the show if they were gonna appear or have a movie....Deathstroke being the big one at the time and constantine recently by making Legends kill the character because they wanna do a movie or series of their own with him.
For this to happen was insane.
