I said it in the live thread but like the collection of dudes over 40 in AEW are all collectively a special brand of nuts and it's amazing. They just wanna do nutso shit and I respect them for it.

When I saw those tables being stacked, I thought "here's where Darby risks his life again." Never would I have guessed Sting would be the one doing the spot.
I love that he's putting the exclamation point on his legacy with moments like these, rather than letting things end with his shitty WWE run, but ... seriously, please don't kill yourself, you crazy face-painted bastard.

My head couldn't quite wrap around a table stack spot being done, especially after Sammy and Isaiah's hijinx at the top of the ramp (which, by the way, WTF?!) so Darby being pushed away with Andrade on the table left me following a sequence of "Wait, whose doing the sp-Sting, no. No, don't do it. NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!"
It was madness. The whole match excelled the small expectations I had which seemed to be a recurring theme for the night.

I wasn't sure what we where getting when Sting signed with AEW. But every time he comes out he impresses me because this guy is not wrestling like a guy in his sixties. At times I'm like are we really sure that how old he is?

Like, even for how his debut made me excited, I was expecting at the very least his TNA run but he’d be way more of a special attraction and we’d get the big Cody match and such but if you said to me “Sting’s going to be diving off a lot of shit and one of his core feuds was going to be against 2.0 and a guy you’re going to love when you see him called Daniel Garcia” I’d first wonder why the hell WWE would fire 2.0 in the first place and then call you a crazy person. |
