I didn't watch, so I was expecting that his spear through the ropes went wrong. That, though...that could be a career ender right there, I am hoping I'm wrong. My heart goes out to the man. I thought the same thing when I saw the title. Then I watched the link in the OP's post, and as someone who's life was forever changed due to a broken neck in a car accident many, many moons ago I just covered my mouth as I said "oh my god..." out loud. I wish WWE were held accountable for calling up people too soon, that are sloppy and injure people (Nia), but they never are, and I'm afraid what will happen as their vision of what the future looks like takes hold. All the positive thoughts for Big E, and his family. I know the road all too well, but luckily he's healthy, able to walk and move, and will own this road to recovery.

Both of these were overhead throws
Stop f***ing having Holland do that, Gargano was half the size of E and it STILL happened
I'm not blaming Ridge or saying he should lose his job over it... but limit the dude's moveset, stop having him do stuff where he needs to dump a guy over, it's not working.

Such sad news. It really is something looking at the replies on Twitter to Big E’s video and seeing love and well wishes from like, everybody in wrestling. You can tell this is an extremely well loved and respected guy. Praying for a quick and full recovery for him.

Thank goodness it isn't a situation like Droz. Hope he recovers well. Back in 2019 he and Xavier did a mall event when they toured in Australia. Genuinely got the feeling that both are just cheerful, positive, inspiring guys. Sadly at the show that night Xavier suffered his achilles injury. Xavier bounced back and im sure Big E will too.

I don't put the blame on Holland, I put it on WWE. It's the inevitable end result of their current, "We'll just batch train guys and then rush them onto TV," approach. It worries me more for the fact Holland isn't even part of the NXT 2.0 crop, he's bee wrestling for almost seven years, he's not a rookie with like 15 matches to his name But this is a huge blind spot for him... he's too bulky and seems to have show muscles, he should not be trying to do stuff that he very clearly, is not able to do.

I’m dead-ass seeing people on Twitter saying “If they still had him in the main event being champion, he wouldn’t have gotten hurt” and I’m just like… Is nothing sacred? Do the weirdos in this fanbase have to turn EVERYTHING into an agenda?
Sorry to vent here when it’s not happening here, but it’s just… I just can’t keep it in.

I'm gonna also say this one time, if WWE replays this spot for injury update purposes, they should get f***ing pelted for it.
It was gross enough when they replayed Madcap getting spiked over and over. E legit broke his neck, have a shred of decency to not show this live on television again.

I thought it was dumb he was teaming with Kofi again in dead end tag feuds, but like, no one saw this coming, nor should anyone have EXPECTED it to happen Big E could have gotten just as injured as champion vs anyone... it was an accident. I do blame whoever produced the match to have Holland belly to belly throw him on the outside, was a dumbass decision that went totally wrong, but like... injuries are a lot of the time, accidents, and it don't matter who the opponent is, and a lot of the times, they're the safest most mundane spots. Champion or not, that does not and never will matter for this shit.

I don't put the blame on Holland, I put it on WWE. It's the inevitable end result of their current, "We'll just batch train guys and then rush them onto TV," approach. Holland has been wrestling since 2016 and joined the WWE in 2018. He wasn't exactly rushed to the main roster. I hope Big E gets well soon. But he also was injured for a significant period of time and has been working only sparingly on TV (which does matter and is distinct from just working practice matches).

Which is also why you probably shouldn't have him chucking a giant dude over his head ON THE OUTSIDE like that Seriously why was that spot even approved? Holland could have shoulder tackled Big E and laid him out to the exact same effect

I hope nothing but a full and speedy recovery for Big E. Glad that he seems to be in good spirits and has feeling in his extremities. I don't put the blame on Ridge Holland for it but it shows some shortcomings in the WWE's training because Taz pointed out on Twitter that Ridge Holland's technique wasn't correct. The agent who laid out the match shouldn't have included such a risky spot involving an inexperienced wrestler delivering a move with such a small margin of error.

Horrible news about Big E and watching the video of that spot made me wince in pain.
Hope he has a full recovery and there's no permanent damage as a result from this.

This is horseshit on Ridge and the WWE's part. Ridge shouldn't be there, this happened before, and he hooked very high on a top-heavy guy to throw him. I don't watch the product, spend any money or time on WWE, but Big E is a saint and he deserved better.

I have no desire to watch the clip. Just awful news to read. But definitely good to hear he has full feeling in his extremities. Positivity isn’t just a gimmick for this man. And I’m sure he will. meet whatever lies ahead with the best possible mindset.

I’m not going to comment on anything else because I don’t plan on watching said clip and this thing’s on 4 pages already but f***, man. I’m just glad it wasn’t anything way more horrific and I wish Big E the best in his recovery.

Watching it again and again, the setup to the Belly to Belly was fine. Ridge grabbed him at a high angle, properly thrusted his hip - honestly? I don't really know what went wrong, but it went wrong horribly. Man.
