Arcade version was great, snes port was terrible. Vertigo was my dinosaur of choice.

59. Fighting Vipers This is another game I haven't played in a long time, so I can't say whether it has aged well or not. The main thing I remember about it is the destructible walls around the stages. This might have been the first fighting game to have that feature, actually. Also, I think you could destroy the opponent's armour, too.

58. Mortal Kombat 4 This game gets trashed on a lot these days, but looking back, it actually got decent reviews. To be fair, those endings are hilarious. But I thought this game was okay. The roster was really weak, too; Quan Chi was the only interesting newcomer, for me. I do prefer this to the PS2 era MKs. At least this game was still trying to be MK and not trying to poorly imitate Tekken/Soul Calibur when it came to the gameplay.

I wouldn’t mind a short entry of worst games in the genre. My vote would be for Cosmic Carnage. It was a 32x exclusive and it was a buggy piece of shit. The few times you can get a lag-free match it was potentially interesting, though more so for the variety of the contestants than any actual mechanics of the game. That being said, such lag-free play almost never happened.

57. Kung Fu Chaos This was the first Xbox game I ever owned and it was pretty fun for what it was. It reminded me a lot of Power Stone but nowhere near as good. Power Stone had a lot more depth, whereas this game was lacking. Still a fun time-waster, I'd say.

56. Tatsunoko vs. Capcom: Ultimate All-Stars I'll admit I sucked at this game. This was my first anime fighter and I remember trying to play it like it was SFIV. Yeah, that doesn't work. I also had no real interest in the Tatsunoko side, either. My favourite character was Saki, who is apparently a Capcom character, which I didn't even know. Not much offline content in this game, either. This is definitely a game I would like more if it came out today now that I can actually play anime fighters.

55. Street Fighter EX2 Plus The first EX game on the list. It's the one I played the least but that's because I didn't actually own it—I used to borrow it from a friend. There's gonna be a few games coming up that fit under the category of 'games that are good but I didn't play much of'. This version introduced Vulcano Rosso and Area, who were pretty cool characters. I have a lot more to say about the other entries, so let's move on!

54. Dead or Alive 3 Unfortunately, I only played this game relatively recently. I really wanted it when I was a kid because I loved the second game so much but I could never find it, for some reason. I did enjoy what I played but my hype had passed by that point. Oh well.

53. Virtua Fighter 5 This is another good game that I barely played (we're at the filler part of the list). Looking at the release date, I didn't own a PS3, yet, so that explains it. I did eventually buy it and I had fun, but I was busy with other games. It's a shame because I absolutely loved 4 (spoiler!). One thing that stood out for me, is that the original version didn't have online play which was kind of odd.

52. Street Fighter X Tekken What a disaster this game was. I guess the only reason this isn't even lower is that the first couple of days I played this, before all the problems became apparent, were really fun, and the update they released seemed to fix a lot of the issues. Where to start? The gem system was cheap (actually, they were pretty expensive...). I'll admit, I abused the auto-tech (automatically broke throws) gem and it was hilarious. Not only that, they would make your characters glow all kinds of ugly colours. The 'roll' you could do to escape pressure was op. From what I remember, they were completely throw invincible. Anti-airs were useless for a lot of characters. I mained Law and he had no anti-air until the update. You could just jump for free against so many chars. Jabs were broken. You could walk-up jab all day. There were constant timeouts. I think it was because the damage was so low? Oh, the sound was bugged, too. Almost forgot about that. On disc DLC, boxart Megaman, console exclusive characters, useless Pandora Mode, etc. Did I forget anything? I can barely remember the offline content. There was no real story mode, though. Anyway, I barely played the update. It did seem to fix mostly everything, but I was pretty much done by that point. What a waste.

2 of my favourite Fighting Game franchises in one game, Shame they f***ed it up. We also never got Tekken X Street Fighter, closest we got was Akuma being in Tekken 6.
and I will say this about the EX Series, It has one of my all time favourite Fighting Game OSTs.

51. Marvel vs. Capcom 3: Fate of Two Worlds I'm gonna be saying this a lot until we get to Guilty Gear XRD, but I sucked at this game, too. This was my first 'anime fighter' and I thought my SFIV skills would translate over, but obviously not because it's a completely different beast. So I didn't play the game very long. That happened a lot around this time when I was an SFIV fanboy and wouldn't give any other fighting games a fair shot. I'm sure if the game came out today, I'd love it. My team was Super Skrull, Amaterasu and Arthur, by the way. I do have a legit complaint, though, and it's that the game was lacking in game modes. I think there was Arcade and maybe combos trials, and that was pretty much it. The lag was bad, too. I know people were pissed about Ultimate MVC, because it released not long after this, but I never played it. Unfortunately, this is the only MVC game I've played. I do own MVC2 but it doesn't work! And it's a pretty pricey game, too.

50. Soulcalibur VI Man, it's been a rough few years for SC. I know quite a few people liked this game, but I personally think it's the worst of the series. I guess most people would say V. I personally think V's kind of underrated, but we'll get to that. Having said that, VI is still a decent game. You can tell this game didn't have the budget of the other games and it shows. Graphically it's a letdown. I actually thought the offline content was great. Libra of Soul was a lot of fun and reminded me of Chronicles of the Sword in III. They brought back the old characters, which is a positive as V's new chars were kind of weak. My main gripe just comes down to online play. The connections were rough and made for a pretty miserable experience if I'm honest, lol. And I just dropped it in frustration.

49. BlazBlue: Continuum Shift Yes, I sucked at this game, too... but not as much. I was getting better. I must've played this about a year after it came out, so I didn't get that into it. But I did have fun for the short amount of time I did play. Online was great, too. This game has amazing music. That was definitely something that stuck with me. I'd say Jin's and Platinum's themes were the best. I played Arakune and got a lot of cheap wins with him by throwing bugs all over the screen. I liked Platinum, too, but couldn't play her for shit. One criticism of this game is that I'm not a huge fan of the character designs. They're all kind of generic anime designs.

48. King of Fighters XIV Another good game let down by bad online. Do I even need to talk about the graphics? Everyone's made fun of them at this point. They aren't good but as long as the gameplay is enjoyable, I can let it slide. And the game was fun. I actually loved the roster of this game. There were so many weirdos, I couldn't decide who to play. I don't even know if I had a proper team. I liked Mian the most, though.

47. Street Fighter Alpha 2 I think I played this on one of the SF collections on PS1. This game added Rolento and Sakura, two of my favourite SF characters. Alpha 2 was a lot of fun but not quite as good as 3. I'm actually not sure if I played the first Alpha game. Maybe very briefly.

VF5 for some reason never felt as fluid as VF2 to me. Fighting Vipers was pretty overlooked but a super fun game. Not to mention Fighters Megamix on the Saturn, where the car from Daytona could throw down if you unlocked him.
I swear that Tatsunoko vs Capcom had the best Alex ever.
