*hacks up blood* I’m probably fine. *sees Steph winding up for a slap* I should get this checked out. Very glad he’s getting things checked and doing the right things for himself and his family and not Dis Bizness. Honestly, I could see him and Steph just cashing out in the next couple years. If I'm him, I'm done now. They've got to have enough money where he can not have to work, or at least not work a high stress position. I know he can't do a match anymore, but I wonder if he's no contact at all. Like could he take a light bump off of a punch for heat, or deliver the odd pedigree for a pop? Only way you're getting heat on Triple H now is off-screen and finding him conveniently laid out on the floor. Not even worth considering doing anything physical with him.

I know it’s the last RAW before Mania, but a tribute show this Monday would be suitable. Wonder if they will do one tonight on Smackdown?

From a booking perspective, except for the DX run in the late 90s, I couldn’t stand Ego H as I called him. Absolutely the living embodiment of everything I hated in the business. That’s the booking. I have always respected Paul Leveques, the man behind the Game. Disagree? Loads of times. But still saw a decent person who cared about the business and loved his family. We understand a golden rule - these days especially, you don’t get to leave on your terms. But this… it doesn’t feel right, man. I’m glad Paul is able to be here and hug his wife and kids as paramount, though. Well done. The Game is now over, but well played.

Gonna be honest I don't think they need to do a tribute show to him and I don't think he would want one especially sacrificing the build to Mania for it IMO. I absoloutley see a month long dedication to his career though...Youtube retrospectives , photoshoots , talking head segments , him on broken skull sessions and finally one big career documentary on the network/peacock. I expect him to show his mug on NXT though at stand an deliver maybe after the initial show is over.

He has nothing left to prove and one of the few wrestlers who can say they did everything in their career. Enjoy your retirement, Hunter.

WWE usually don't do full on tribute shows to people unless they die... and usually only if they died suddenly. I do think they'll have like internet retrospective type stuff... and one of the A&E Biographies is likely going to be about him (If it wasn't before now that he's retired I can definitely see it)

Trips has definitely had a rough few years both professionally and personally. Nothing really turned out the way it was looking to, and now he has to retire after coming close to death, which I'm sure is hitting home after losing Scott. That's why it's so important to have a good support system in life.
Triple H, Batista, and Kurt Angle's last WM was at Wrestlemania 35. Pretty significant careers there. Triple H only wrestled a few times after that, notably in June a few months later for the Orton match in Saudi and a few house shows in Japan. And whatever that Orton thing was last year on Raw, but I wouldn't really count that - dude was in a Motorhead shirt & pants and it went more like a post-promo brawl to push the Alexa stuff at the end.

Also, thank god for Steph because how do you cough up blood and your first thought isn’t, “damn, gotta get this checked out like literally now??” my dad hid it for a while, turned out to be pnemonia caused by a lung condition. I only found out he was hiding it because I overheard him on the phone to the nurse at the local doctors and sadly was too late to do anything about it.

After Regal's recent interview, it's been quite the week for horrific medical incidents.
I'm glad he's still with us and has a life still to spend with his family and whatever he chooses. Scary stuff.

Not with one of these bad boys in him: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Implantable_cardioverter-defibrillatorWell, that takes awat the pedigree, what with the underhook. But a light bump from a punch, just to give a heel some extra "what an asshole" heat, kinda like what Magnum TA did for Tully Blanchard after his accident...would that be too much? I honestly don't know.

The reason I even brought it up is you know he will want to do something like that if it's little to no risk...which it may not be.

It's a shame he doesn't get to go out on his own terms, but a silver lining is his last Wrestlemania match was against Batista which is a pretty good bookend.

Unlike many of his peers - and let's face it, it's because he went part-time early - H never seemed like a pity case or a diminished figure when he was wrestling. If he wasn't an executive and had a more active schedule (But still not WWE fulltime active), he would probably be up there with Bockwinkel and Jericho for peak longevity in the US.

Also, and I have no proof of this, I think there's something to be said about what happened to Hall having even a small effect on him. Hall was a guy who, after much hardship, was going in the right direction and making amends and doing the right things (for the most part, you still get an FTR story here and there) and the fact is, what happened to him was something he had no control over. It was a surgical mistake that caused his heart attacks and coma and I can't imagine HHH looking at all that and not even a tiny bit thinking "I need to live my life. This business has taken a lot from me and I just need to say f*** it" because I think before then, it would have been easy just for him to say "I'll be back eventually" because of wrestler's pride and stuff.
Again, no proof, just a thought I had.

Sounds like the right call, if likely a very difficult one. Kind of figured that was the end of the line for him between how serious the situation was and the fact he hadn't had a real match in a couple of years to begin with, though still unfortunate he won't get any sort of grand finale for his career. Still, being alive and there for his family is the important thing.

If he's capable I'd love to see a cameo at Wrestlemania to get a massive pop. Rollins opens the show screaming about not having a match. HHH's music hits. Rollins cackles and says you can't wrestle anymore. HHH says that's true, I'm just here to introduce your opponent and the newest member of the WWE roster then Cody comes out. What a hot opening to the show that would be.

Damn, a defib means he's on borrowed time sadly.
I've known a few people pass away because they didn't get the batteries changed in time - my family doctor being one of them.
I hope he keeps himself in check and keeps the routine checkups religiously.

I wonder if they gave Triple H the thing that autoconnects and sends reports relatively constantly to their heart doctor.

When it comes to not going to see a doctor, I think people's minds betray them. You somehow convince yourself that it’s better to not know. Of course, that’s complete non-sense. But we lie to ourselves, for a variety of reasons, all the time. There’s also a weird thing of thinking you're letting your loved ones down, by putting them through seeing you in a hospital bed. Well, that’s a damn sight better than seeing you in a coffin.
I'm very glad that he came through it. Hopefully! He has many more years of watching his daughters grow up and become whoever it is they become. But it is weird knowing that Triple H has wrestled his final match. He’s just so synonymous with everything about WWE.
