I'm sure she'll feel better when she finds some more dudes in their 20s to f***. The f*** does that have to do with her condition? To me it shows the character is question f*** Will’s wife? He cries on TV. Make a joke about her? Bitch slap.

Why are people assuming Rock knew anything about Jada’s alopecia? Because she has been very open about it But why does that mean Rock specifically would know anything about it? Has Chris Rock ever mentioned he follows Jada’s podcasts or that he follows news about her or something?

I mean, just confront him after the show. Comedians make bad jokes all the time. It’s not even normal for comedians to get assaulted for making bad or offensive jokes. And I get trying to defend your wife, but there is not justification to just waltz up on stage and assault him. Will Smith should be arrested, because if anyone else in the world did that, they’d have their ass in jail. scary part of our society is it is being more socially acceptable to assault, steal from, or hurt someone if they said something that you deem "mean". I can't think of many situations where words should warrant an assault. We were taught as children to not do this. It's not acceptable, period, even if Chris Rock said something even more egregious than he did.

I put this in the Oscars thread, but then I saw this one, so... here lol Will Smith slapping Chris Rock is literally the only thing I saw from this show, and after watching the uncensored clip of what happened, I have to say... if I were Jada, I'd be more embarrassed by my husband acting that way - after laughing himself - than a stupid joke. I know, alopecia, but really. There was zero reason for any of that to happen, especially over a (let's be real, here, tame) GI Jane 2 joke. Will should be mortified.

If it's a work, I don't see what Will could possibly have to gain from it.

Chris shouldn't have made the joke and Will should have pulled him to the side backstage Both wrong but Will is def more in the wrong for putting his hands on him And making a big f***in scene after. Dude basically went back to his seat just to threaten to hit him again, screaming obscenities like a drunk Randy Marsh. This is the same as the Juwan Howard incident. It's a guy who was in the wrong, arguably understandably, but who also made matters worse by just not being professional afterwards. I can tell these mfs are wrong because it's exactly what I would have done at 19. No forethought.

Everything Will Smith does makes him seem like a f***ing weenie. He is one of the most calculated men in Hollywood except all of his calculations are stupid.

It also helps the Oscars which nobody watches anymore. I'm aware of the old PR adage, but I don't see it in this case. It's not going to help Will Smith in any way. It's not going to compel even one more person to buy a ticket to see his next movie, or rent King Richard. It's just going to inspire them to make memes. I get what the Oscars get out of it. I'd even get what Chris Rock would potentially get from it. But Will Smith? Looking like a jackass on a night he wins an award for best actor? Nope, not seeing it.

I harped on about this fact in the Oscars thread, I’ll say it again here. Will Smith laughed when that (lame) joke was cracked. The fact that he then decided to get up and slap Chris Rock makes it even worse. Anyone who knew that it would bother their wife that much would not be laughing at a joke about a medical condition (even if it wasn’t specifically designed to mock that condition).

I'm sure she'll feel better when she finds some more dudes in their 20s to f***. Regardless of whether you agree with Will's actions or not, slut-shaming a woman whose untreatable medical condition was made the subject of a joke on an international broadcast isn't a good look, be better than that.

In the end ni one just goes up and assaults someone and then goes back to their seat. Its a work

My sympathy for Smith is much lessened by how he found the joke funny and only after it had sunk in or he caught his wife’s reaction did he decide it was fighting time offensive.

I don’t follow celebrity news, but I have an aunt that does follow this stuff, and she had no idea about Jada’s alopecia. That’s why I’m asking the question. Don’t assume malice from a post that didn’t contain any.

Look at it this way, Will Smitb may have given Chris Rock the biggest onscreen hit Rock has ever had.
