Have to be honest; I don't think there's a mainstream or near-mainstream televised wrestling product in the US that does what you're describing, outside of some one-off "dream match" scenarios here or there. Going by the way the results read, at least, I find most of them use their matches to tell long-term stories better than WWE does. Yea idk. I'm not overly excited about WWE, but I gotta be honest and just say that I care even less about AEW. The storytelling is so jumbled. Best way I can describe it. But the thing is, WWE is the other extreme end where it's very, very formulaic, and it gets boring real fast. I don't know, I can't answer you really, but there is just something so uninteresting about AEW's whole presentation that even when WWE is extremely boring and bad, when I put the two side by side, I just care about WWE more. Honestly, though: neither company caters to me, really. WWE is for kids, and AEW is for the hardcore wrestling fan that cares about the matches and match quality above all else. I'm happy for people who like AEW, but I do get a little bitter and wish there was a WWE alternative for me, haha. TNA's presentation is awful with the sound stage and 7 people in attendance where you can hear a pin drop.I guess the answer to the question is that WWE gives me that comfy familiar format where I know how things work, and maybe I'm drawn to that sort of out of habit. And AEW to someone like me just seems like an unorganized mess. With some cool talent here and there, but no one doing anything of any interest. Except Wardlow's pretty cool. I'd like a 97-99/2000-ish WWF style presentation, but without all the TnA and immature stuff and poop humour and stuff like that. But the charismatic characters, episodic storytelling, cliffhangers, short matches, shows that go fullspeed at all times. At least you were honest, in that you don't watch Impact.

The tradition. There's always threads here telling stories about when/how people became wrestling fans. I don't have that story. My dad was a wrestling fan and I have been watching wrestling since before I have memories. There are pictures of me playing with the LJN thumb wrestlers when I was two years old. For my whole entire conscious life January has meant Royal Rumble, Spring means WrestleMania, August means Summerslam, and Thanksgiving means Survivor Series. Like if I had to do a word association and someone said "summer" Summerslam would be one of the first things to pop in my head. That's probably why, despite me almost never watching WWE anymore, I'll never completely walk away. I've literally never been without it.

I'm open to giving them a try, I root for TNA. Last time I watched, Striker was on commentary, and I hear he's gone, so already it should have improved. It's just sad because I always rooted for TNA, and liked them pre-2010. 2005-2008 was some good shit - even with its flaws.

Video packages. I took them for granted until AEW came along and expects you to know everything about most of the new talent that comes in.

Wrestlemania I think WWE massively over do them (like they played the same ones like 20 times at mania for instance... but they are experts at making even the shittiest build look amazing.

I agree with that. Sometimes they can really over do it.

Pure, unadulterated Schadenfeude. whenever another promotion (even AEW to a degree) screwes up it feels kinda like punching down because they're all underdogs. WWE on the other hand is the biggest promotion in the world so when they screw up (which is sadly at least once a week) its a lot easier to laugh about it.

And no matter how many times they f*** up, they will move forward because they are just so damn big. Everytime AEW screws up, it seems to always be big news and fans freak out. I guess that comes with one company being ALMOST* to big to fail and one company can’t screw up too much because it’s still so young. *I say almost because in reality, no company is too big to fail.

Fix to insomnia ?
edit: but no in all honesty it’s the memories. My birthday is in January and a couple of times it was held on my birthday and it just makes me nostalgic. I mean the Raw 25 and 1000 video packages were superb.
it’s because of all that stuff which is why it pisses me off when they f*** up and so stupid won’t change. Thankfully NXT 1.0 and especially NXT UK have kept me in when I would normally have just left.

Tom Hannifan(fka Tom Phillips) has been a big improvement as their play-by-play guy, & Matthew Rehwoldt has been doing great as their color commentator. They, for sure, had their down times...but, it's gotten better, & 2022 has been great, so far.

Heartburn Nausea Indigestion Upset Stomach Diarrhoea![](https://pics.drugstore.com/prodimg/395359/900.jpg) Serious answers: Wrestlemania: Even as a two night show, It still such a huge event that the wrestling world all gather to the same city center around it. I would say stadium show but now they doing more of that. Royal Rumble: While some are not as good as others its the event that starts to the road to Wrestlemania. You always look for the surprises and ext. Pyro: Lets be honest, WWE as for year had the best Pyro work in wrestling and even now on another level. The sad but true answer wish it was a joke: Headaches on some of the match endings. Like DQ in a Hell in a Cell match. Countout in a Lumberjack match. Just endings that go against the purpose of the match type. Millions of unneeded Camera changes. Like anything someone is attacked with punches, Do we NEED a camera change on each punch? Nope. Unneeded same matches every week. Not even really telling a story when the end result is the same. Only done because you lack options. The Babyface are always idiots, in a cookie cutter style of booking. A lot of disappointments. ON either not giving a good match enough time, crappy endings, Not pushing someone more, Stop and go pushes, and random breakup of tag teams that go nowhere.

Something about the acoustics of the place just made it seem like the pandemic era never ended. But a lot of good talent in TNA. I know they're called iMPACT, but it's always TNA to me.

I agree, that Skyway Studios had it's issues. It's been better since they've gotten back on the road, these past couple weeks in Philly being really good.

WWE can still put on great content when they give a shit about trying and that's why it's so frustrating being a WWE fan sometimes is you know they can be better than they often are. This year's WrestleMania was fantastic and exactly what I want from WWE. They have a solid roster; literally all they have to do is use it and book 5 hours a week of fun wrestling that engages the fans and tells a story. It's not hard.
