This is just for posterity’s sake as I don’t know how consequential it is, but for those interested:
292,000 total viewers and 138,000 in the demo.
5:30ET/2:30PT does nobody any favors.

I know I completely forgot about the early start time.

Yeah, I would say it's almost not even worth discussing. A complete anomaly, given that 3/4ths of the United States was at work and the other 1/4 was driving home from work.

It was never gonna be a good number. That timeframe has never been a wrestling timeslot, for good reason. Starting halfway into an hour is usually bad in itself but the entire west coast just about was in work, and the eat coast was still kind of getting out of work. A lot of people forgot it was on. This probably did mad DVR numbers.
What I find funny about this though is despite all of this, Rampage's Key Demo was still just under NXT's for their Spring Breakin' special event... a Rampage show that did this terribly in that timeslot, still almost beat NXT in demo doing a regular timeslot and a special event show... that's saying a lot.

That's actually not terrible for the time slot but yeah I don't think anyone was really expecting anywhere close to the typical number. Only thing I'm curious about is dvr numbers.

I know it's an anomaly but still that's Baad. I wouldn't be happy with it even at that time slot.

There's no way to judge it in the time slot. It's obviously worse but also ah unfamiliar slot. Like everyone who watches Pardon the Interruption knows it's on at 5:30 every week. Regular fans of Rampage either couldn't watch or forgot.

Still managed to just barely place in the top 50 for the night so it's something.

They really ought to put Rampage on a different day with a fixed timeslot.
I haven't been keeping up, but it sounds like the timeslot changes a bit?
If I were TK I'd be a little bit peeved.

It's something Tony can keep in his back pocket when the time to renew comes up tbh, none of this is his fault and the ratings aren't his fault, that's all Warner moving them because of the NBA and NHL Playoffs. It's why Dynamite moved to TBS

I know it's an anomaly but still that's Baad. I wouldn't be happy with it even at that time slot. That's literally what they were gonna get though. Half the world was still at work while the other half was barely getting out of it at 5:30 PM EST. This is not a good timeslot for premieres and it's why you never really see premieres at this time outside of Cartoons, when kids are home from school. This isn't really Tony's fault, Warner put it there, and they keep bumping Rampage around, this is something that might be brought up during the TV Renewal deal. Rampage might do better with a RAW deal where it goes to another Network for a week or two, like TruTV or something, they probably have the room at 10PM... Also the DVR numbers were probably huge for this show tbh

Just can't be helped with Turner stations having both the NBA and NHL playoffs. Yeah, it’s not even like it’ll be that long TV wise (unless someone decides to go all 7 games and, unfortunately, there are two series for the NBA that could right now) but it’s still annoying. On the flip side, does help their chances if they’re shown to be willing to take the hit for a bit for the long established sports leagues. Like, outside of Fridays, nothing else really works for Rampage.

Frankly 200K would have been acceptable.
This is literally an ‘it is what it is’ thing. If I were Turner/Discovery/AEW and you offered me those numbers or take my chances, I’d have grabbed them and run.

The usual people are burying it on Twitter... but half the country was probably still at work or were on their way home from work when this started. It's an ugly number but there are valid reasons why.
I agree with others that say AEW really needs to find a way (probably next rights negotiation?) to get a more stable time slot if they can.

Thats also why I hope they can get the HBOMax deal as soon as possible.

These kinds of numbers are meaningless. Not in terms of them not being real or anything, but because when it comes time to look at news deals or evaluate AEW's performance, shows at outrageous and inaccessible start times aren't going to be looked at like they're representative of anything. The network exec who is going to use this rating to make a point is one who wants AEW off their station entirely.
