Does anyone think this all might just be an elaborate work? As I ask every time the suggestion is brought up; who benefits? It doesn’t benefit Sasha and Naomi because they’re off TV and not involved in anything, it doesn’t benefit WWE because they just keep two people at home who are, in certain ways, genuine stars they need for their womens division and the end result would be the audience trusting WWE a bit less because they wouldn’t believe the stories said. It’s hard to get the audience to care when stuff happens is just another story in the WWE narrative. And also to add, if they’re smart enough to come up with this sort of thing, it’d be better to use those brains to make more cohesive narratives for their TV show. I can see it becoming a "shoot themselves into a work" situation if Sasha and Naomi are somehow placated and brought back into the fold, at which point the "It was a work all along" crowd will become insufferable.

A week later, and while we've had some stuff backed up, there's still much shifting sands and guesswork about all this. I don't doubt it's real, myself, but there's more assumption than fact about the proper details.
And it's not like Sasha and/or Naomi even have to speak out, if they choose not to.
Feels like this one is going to take a while to get through all the noise.

Sasha and Naomi didn't want to work with Asuka and Becky because they didn't want to get involved in the world title picture and instead wanted to work a tag program with Nikki and Doudrop. A lot of people jumped to conclusions that "uncomfortable working with" was a Nia Jax like safety thing when it was purely booking related. This was their statement: "And even though they had eight hours to rehearse and construct their match, they claimed they were uncomfortable in the ring with two of their opponents even though they'd had matches with those individuals in the past with no consequence" We're not jumping to conclusions here. The statement is discussing comfortability with working with them in the ring. That's why they referenced the amount of time they had to construct the match and their previous time working with them. If they meant that in terms of booking, they should have written a better statement. It's such an odd detail, that they debunk themselves in the next sentence - that I can't really believe it was totally made up either. I'm sure we'll find out Sasha and Naomi's side eventually.

Have we had the screamed at by a producer confirmed anywhere? I know I saw it from that one twitter account, but the same account also (apparently) falsely said that they left the building at 5, not 8. This feels like a he said/she said right now. According to WWE's statement, Sasha and Naomi didn't feel comfortable with working with two of their opponents which seems to be untrue so if they lied about that, can we trust them on when they left? SRS is the one that confirmed with multiple talent and officials that they left after the show started. Not going by WWE’s own statement obviously.

I've been on Hayrides through Amish country more punk rock than Corey Graves sniveling ass. Corey Graves makes Donny Osmond look like Joey Ramone. Corey Graves makes Johnny Ramone look like Joey Ramone

Does anyone think this all might just be an elaborate work? If it is, than WWE has put more effort into this work than any of their other current storylines on TV. Which they never do.

Does anyone think this all might just be an elaborate work? This is at least the 3rd time Sasha Banks has disappeared when booking didn't go her way, not to mention the trope of her sulking her way to the ring when she's booked to lose. For some reason, she's avoided being called a mark for herself.... Anyway, no, it's just business as usual. She'll be back, at the top of the card, until she sulks and goes home again.

Always has a top spot ready for her when she comes back when they could give someone else a chance instead who is less problematic. Squeaky wheels get the grease though unfortunately.

Is anyone else surprised we have gone this far without a comment from Naomi or Sasha?

Is anyone else surprised we have gone this far without a comment from Naomi or Sasha? Not really. WWE are doing such a stellar job making themselves look bad, Sasha and Naomi really don't have to say anything.

Is anyone else surprised we have gone this far without a comment from Naomi or Sasha? Nah, they aren't going to do anything to give WWE Legal anymore ammo and if there is something they want out, they have people that can leak it for them.

Is anyone else surprised we have gone this far without a comment from Naomi or Sasha? The more WWE shit on them, the more sympathetic they look. So I don't think they even have to say anything.

Jimmy Smith has officially weighed in on WWE’s public statement about Sasha Banks and Naomi walking out of “WWE Raw”.
Before the May 16 episode of “Monday Night Raw” was set to air, WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions Sasha Banks and Naomi walked out of the arena due to a reported issue with their creative for the show.
Following Banks and Naomi’s exit, WWE released a statement, stating that the now-former champions placed their titles on the desk of the company’s Head of Talent Relations, John Laurinaitis, and walked out of the arena.
Monday Night RAW commentator Jimmy Smith addressed the company’s decision to release a statement on the latest edition of his Unlocking The Cage with Jimmy Smith Podcast.
“The rumor I have heard is, in the days of social media, where the performers themselves can spin their own narrative,” Smith stated. “Nowadays, if the Ultimate Warrior got cut and people know the story of at SummerSlam, he ran to the back and was immediately fired by Vince McMahon because he made all these demands and whatever, if you don’t know the story, watch Dark Side of The Ring. But, Ultimate Warrior would’ve picked up his phone and recorded something on Instagram saying ‘F Vince McMahon!’ blah blah blah, whatever. The superstars themselves are able to get their own story out and get their own narrative out to the public in ways they couldn’t 20, 10, or 15 years ago. So, what it feels like what the WWE is doing and I don’t know, they haven’t discussed it with me, they’re getting ahead of the ability of Sasha Banks and Naomi to put out their own narrative. Right? If you don’t say why they’ll say why and it’ll paint them in a different light than WWE and WWE wants their own perspective out there. Does that make sense? They’re gonna come out and say something, so WWE wanted to get ahead of it first. Make sense?”

The issue is that it’s hard to take it seriously when they’ve cried wolf so many times about talent, it’s hard to believe who actually is a backstage problem and who is just someone who got too big for their britches and the company wants to knock down a peg. They even tried to do it with Charlotte in hush hush rumor form when anyone with eyes and access to FOX saw her being unprofessional in a belt handover segment. You don’t need to tell us how difficult she is with storylines, we saw it.

I would be somewhat fascinated to know the listenership of Jimmy Smith's podcast.

If WWE tries to bury them on Friday, I am officially in on thinking that they patched up things and it's become a work. At this point, you usually get some type of news or update. It's been radio silence and that usually means it's a Vince and that person handling it one on one thing.

There’s always that possibility, especially with Naomi being married to Jimmy, who’s in such a prominent position right now. The only issue with turning it into a work is where do you go with it? Do you have Sasha and Naomi come back as heels? I don’t think that would work, audience-wise. And if you bring them back as faces against the heel company, who are the women representatives of the company that can feud with them? Maybe Charlotte and Nattie would be big enough names with a connection to make that work?

However that means Charlotte would not be in the singles title picture which is something that will never happen. Natalya and Shayna wouldn't work. I guess maybe you can do something like Carmella (office favorite) and Sonya (ex authority, has history with Naomi). However that would be hard to arrange too since they are both on Raw and Naomi and Sasha are assigned to Smackdown which is where they will go with them not being champions anymore. If they lose their titles in NXT soon Toxic Attraction getting called up would be perfect for something like that as they are clearly very well liked by management and pretty much the poster girls of the new vision they see for women's wrestling with the bigger emphasis on sex appeal. Them going against the two women who put their foot down and are fighting against the machine would be perfect.

I think a more likely scenario is Naomi makes amends with the company, and comes back as a heel in the Bloodline, feuding with Ronda over the summer.
