Did they lock in that date before UFC filled up that card? If so cant really blame them because UFC cards can be either great or crap They knew the UFC was running but not the card. However, most UFC shows have been selling out almost instantly so the effect was going to be felt really independent of the card. It's Vegas and fans know it's going to be a good card. That is completely arrogant to book a show knowing another event is running that weekend, you get what you get.

Crazy. I think this is WWE's first event ever at the MGM Grand Garden Arena. It has housed so many historic wrestling events. Yes! It housed UWF Blackjack Brawl! And it drew like a couple hundred people if I remember correctly. Haha

I wonder if WWE will put out a statement saying how they’ve disappointed millions of WWE fans by advertising one venue, then changing it to another? Since that’s what they do now when something gets changed for the original plan apparently.

Definitely sounds as though WWE needs to build the card if they want to build the crowd.
The MITB matches better be loaded and the winners are credible contenders for the titles.
Whoever isn't in that match better have some decent matches booked.
If they can't make this work, Summerslam and future Premium Live Events(tm) might suffer the same fate.

Trying to hold a B-show PPV in a stadium is a dumb move. And I mean, I could understand the idea of trying a MITB stadium show if there were potential for some big matches to draw people in, but WWE literally doesn't have the roster for that.

It'd be harder now since they cut a ton of people... but it would not have been as impossible if they haven't cut down everyone in favor of Brock and Roman.

You're never going to win against UFC in Vegas. It's like betting on the Washington Generals.

They called a bomb threat on Sgt. Slaughter. Great, now I want an angle where Lacey Evans turns her back on America.

WrestleTix estimated they had about 18K tickets out so far. MGM Grand has had at most 13K for wrestling and usually less (about 11K). They're almost certainly not going to maximize the 17K every seat filled capacity because of the stage. The result is going to be several thousand fans who made Vegas travel plans who won't be able to get MITB tickets. I understand it may not have aesthetically looked great to run this show but this could turn off some fans long term.

Like The Summer of Muskrat XVII said, even if you don't sell out you could have maybe gotten another 5-10k fans as the event draws nearer or use the month you have to build a better card/generate interest. Many people make last-second trips to Vegas so it's not out of the realm of possibility. Not sure how it works but I figure pulling out of a site like Allegiant would have some type of fee too? Not to mention the optics.

Not to mention the optics. To be fair, the WWE have decades upon decades of experience and data when it comes to shifting tickets. They obviously knew it wasn't going to come close to doing the numbers it needed to. But yes, it does suck if anyone had a ticket now can't get one. Hopefully the touts miss out.

Since that’s what they do now when something gets changed for the original plan apparently. So, you’re saying that WWE is going to blame having to pull out of doing Allegiant Stadium and being relegated to have Money in the Bank take place at the MGM Grand Arena due to Sasha Banks and Naomi’s unprofessionalism.

I’m assuming Summerslam is also a stadium show? They really assumed they were hot enough to fill two of these things in a month like a pandemic isn’t still ongoing? I just don’t get what they were even thinking with this.
