I hope Rodgers stays in Green Bay because I'm a Vikings fan and I want to watch that shit burn.

Reports are that Shane Steichen is flying to Indy today to finalize the deal for him to become their head coach. I sort of wanted Morris, to be honest, but this is also acceptable. Didn't think he'd go for it since he is tight with Reich. At least it does not look like we get a continuation of the Jeff Saturday Experience. I actually welcome him as an assistant coach, focused on the O-Line (the only positive growth I saw under Saturday). I just don't want him as the head coach.

Welp the off-season is officially here. Time to watch the police reports nationwide! I know it's a joke and everything but kind of tired of hearing about riots and crime and such from Eagles fans. My friend, who went to the game as an Eagles fan, has a mass on his liver. Pre-emptively asking that jokes about rioting get to about this level and that's it, please.

I was mainly referring to the NFL players themselves. lol Hope your friends condition improves though. Positive vibes.

In summary: 2018 - Eagles win Super Bowl, Colts hire Eagles OC Frank Reich to be Head Coach 2020 - Eagles go 4-11-1, hire Colts OC Nick Sirianni to be Head Coach 2022 - Colts fire Frank Reich mid-season, Eagles lose Super Bowl, Colts eventually hire Eagles OC Shane Steichen to be HC I can only assume that in 2024 we'll be coming for your OC, Indy. Be ready.

The 2023 NFL schedule won't be released for another two months, but we already know who the Chiefs will be playing at Arrowhead this autumn and winter. And it's a heck of a lineup to try to figure out who they'll play in the Kickoff Game to start the 2023 season.
Denver: Sean Payton's return to an NFL sideline
Buffalo: A rival that many expected to be this year's AFC Championship Game
Cincinnati: A rematch of the last two AFC Championship Games
Miami: The high-powered Dolphins offense likely led by a returning Tua Tagovailoa
Philadelphia: A Super Bowl rematch
The Chiefs also play divisional rivals Las Vegas and Los Angeles at home, as well as Chicago and Detroit, but I wouldn't expect any of those teams to get the Kickoff Game slate.

Gannon was total balls in the SB, is this really a good hire? Most of Philadelphia will be completely okay with this. Gannon is good but his philosophy can be maddening to watch at times. His entire concept is to allow small 3-6 yard passes, limiting big plays in the hopes that the pass rush will get home or the quarterback makes a mistake. I'm way more worried about losing Steichen since he was also our play-caller.

I'd be way more worried about the 10 starters that are FA's on the Eagles...that and a the few who could retire could leave them with some issues.

The Cardinals desperately needed a defensive-minded coach, considering their defense in 2022 was fetid garbage, so the hiring of Jonathan Gannon can be viewed as the right call from that perspective. But their new head coach also has Kyler Murray and his contract hanging over his head like a sword of Damocles, so Gannon needs to be able to connect with Murray and work with him, or at the very least hire an offensive coordinator who will pair well with Murray.

I have a very real question...when will a team try the disposable QB method? I thought Philly was gonna do it but they're saying they're paying Hurts..
I really can't fathom why no team has tried this method...draft a 2nd round college QB that is a Lamar/Hurts etc type of player. Surround them with premium talent as you aren't paying a QB, when those 4 years are up if he's been good, you deal him for picks, draft another one, rinse wash repeat. These QB's running like crazy will lead to shorter primes etc so why not?
Eventually someone is going to learn unless you have a true generational passer back there, paying all this money to QB's is not how you win. I mean shit Dak Prescott is killing the Cowboys and that list honestly is far bigger than he is.
Anyone agree with this thought?

Apparently the Colts were really impressed with Raheem Morris, Ejiro Evero, and Aaron Glenn despite looking for offensive minded coaches but elected to go with Steichen because his outlined plan matched exactly what both Ballard and Irsay wanted out of a HC (and again, they were looking for offensive minded coaches). Did the Cardinals interview any of those guys?
