I'm thinking that the division winners will look something like this, barring any major injuries.
NFC East - Philadelphia or Dallas West - San Francisco North - Detroit South - Saints???
AFC East - Jets or Buffalo West - Kansas City North - Cincy South - Jacksonville
Obviously, a lot will change between now and next season's kick off (especially with Rodgers potentially on the move) but it should be fun to watch.

It's likely an extension of the same discrimination. How many black head coaches have there been? How many of them have been defensive assistants or coordinators? All of them except Denny Green, Jim Caldwell, Hugh Jackson, and Anthony Lynn. So it either is a stigma that still exists or the previous mindset lags behind still today; that it took longer for guys to get jobs like RB/WR coach and now have longer to work their way up. How many black QBs coaches have there been? There's, I think, two serving as QB coach today. Two black OCs. As with a lot of discrimination, it ends up having a ripple effect that lasts many years longer. But I do think some of it is that a lot of the same old stuffy owners, who were perpetrating the racism to being with, have to sign off on these hires and it's not out of line to think their mindset hasn't changed. Like how we've seen many times with The Rooney Rule how teams give a token interview with their hiring process not changing at all. There's all sorts of theories about hell some people think EB isn't getting a job because teams don't want to give the Chiefs extra draft picks. That seems like a very Chiefs-centric conspiracy theory.

If they can't get someone like Derek Carr and then draft Hendon Hooker in the later rounds...they could do some damage.

It appears that every team coming out of the Southern division of each conference is going to be well below standard. Jacksonville is going to feast because all of the other teams in their division are going to go into rebuild mode at the same time with all of the same needs (QB first and damn near everything else after). I can easily see the bottom dropping out for Tennessee, considering how their season ended. The NFC South is a straight-up dumpster fire. With both the Bucs and Saints in cap hell, the Falcons are the only team who can make some upgrades to what's a very mediocre squad. I suppose the Panthers could make a little bit of noise too, but... whew. Definitely like Detroit coming out of the North. They're two defensive playmakers (LB and a safety) away from making some serious noise in the NFC. I have this feeling that Aaron Rodgers is going to find his way to the Jets, and that might not be best thing, long-term. But it will see the end of the Zach Wilson era, which will be sorely needed. I still don't think it's gets them over the Bills. Maybe the Patriots, but not the Bills. If Daniel Jones' price tag is too high, I'd like to see what Mike White might look like in Blue... I mean, outside of getting his ribs destroyed.

When was the last time an NFC East team won the division two years in a row? Feels like it's been forever.

It is wild funny how the Chiefs acting like everyone counted them out to win the Superbowl when they were like top 3 odds to win it

It is wild funny how the Chiefs acting like everyone counted them out to win the Superbowl when they were like top 3 odds to win it I guess their point is that very few media faces picked them to win the Super Bowl (and in a lot of cases, the AFC West). Which is true, but more a reflection on how the media landscape works and how nobody is getting any engagement off picking the Kansas City Chiefs in September.

Rex Ryan looks like he could be headed to Denver as the DC Man Denver is really hoping they can fix this team with name coaching... I'll defend Rex here, he at least was a good DC and still ran a good D as a HC. His downfall at least in NY was locker room rot, questionable GMing by Tannenbaum and outright bad GMing by Izdik and the thing that'll doom any organization inconsistent QB play from Sanchez, the Tebow distraction and throwing a rookie Geno to the wolves when he wasn't ready. So long way of saying that if he's the DC he should do fine especially with the D Denver has

Yeah, there was clearly some doubt with Russell Wilson coming into the division and Tyreek Hill getting shipped out, but it was clear after a few weeks that they were going to be absolutely fine. I'd still say that most picked the Bills to represent the AFC early in the year, but KC had to be right behind them.

I mean, outside of getting his ribs destroyed. Jacksonville definitely has an advantage in the AFC South, though their overspending on free agents is likely to start hurting them soon. The Texans have bare cupboards even after they draft a QB and start using those picks for Watson. Still, their next few seasons will be like engaging in the shootout at the OK Corral with only one bullet in your gun. The Titans still have a solid defense, but their offense has been gutted and some of those key defensive players are either getting long in the tooth or are constantly hurt. They no longer have the players to do well on offense consistently. The Colts aren't as bare as their record suggests, but they do have some serious choices to make as some players are not worth their contracts anymore, some (Gilmore and Buckner especially) are still worth it but may be worth shipping to contenders all the same to accelerate their rebuild. A couple of their major problems are likely now or soon to be resolved. Jeff Saturday was nowhere near ready to be a HC (which Ballard flat out told Irsay, but then again it may have been the best thing to do as it was an effective tanking strategy without actually trying to tank), so now they have a HC that theoretically is ready. Stats show that after his rough start, Raiman was more than up to the task of playing LT (he was one of the top rated LTs in the last half of the season), so it seems likely that hole has been filled and if they can find an upgrade from Fries at RG (who was infinitely better than some of the veterans they put in at that position last season), then the line will not cause the issues it did last year. Now the real question is whether they draft the right QB. They won't contend next year, but they might give the Jags a real fight for the division as the Colts will have an easier schedule.

I think Vrabel is a good coach and neither Tanny nor (more importantly) Henry are washed. They were also 7-3 before the wheels fell off. So I'm not ready to hand the Jags that division yet.

Rex Ryan is a good hire. I’m sure that he hasn’t forgotten how to be a DC in the last few years. At least they’re trying to improve the defense and not just loading up on offensive weaponry.
