The Texans aren't going to escape their racist reputation if they keep hiring Black coaches to be one and done with teams that are set up to fail. My guess is they hire the guy they originally wanted to hire before they went with Lovie Smith because of the whole racism stuff.

Maybe the coach isn't the problem there?

Maybe the coach isn't the problem there? I'm pretty sure that's been obvious for a while now.

Granted, having the Watson drama has impacted the last two seasons, but that makes matters even worse. I thought the team overperformed last season when they were forced to play what was supposed to be their 3rd string rookie QB for much of the season because of Watson sitting out. Despite overperforming, the team fires the coach that made that happen and jettisoned veteran players. The team then has to rely on a bunch of young players and the coach that helps them all develop to the point that they once again start overperforming is then fired as well. This GM simply does not understand that throwing out the good in pursuit of the perfect is a bad strategy.

Arizona has fired Kliff Kingsbury. The Arizona GM has also left.

Kyler is next out the door in arizona It would be nearly impossible to get rid of that contract, they just signed it...it's like GB being on the hook for a 100 million dollar cap hit for Rodgers.

Arizona Cardinals fun fact in their 100 year history the Cards have never had a coach for 6 seasons and the tradition lives on. We talk about Houston being bad but to never have a coach last more than 5 years over 100 years is insane

Arizona has fired Kliff Kingsbury. The Arizona GM has also left. Kingsbury will either find a cushy job as a coach in college (where he was actually not that good if you look back on it. He finished 35-40 and was fired, and was about to take the offensive coordinator job at USC before the Cardinals came calling), or he'll land in an NFL offensive staff. If Kingsbury stays in the NFL, I could see him landing in Kansas City with his former Red Raider Patrick Mahomes under the watchful eye of Andy Reid, or possibly in New England with the head coach who drafted him in the sixth round back in 2003.

Their GM is bad, but the real problem with the Texans is ownership and keeping a VP of football operations around whose only previous football-related job was being the Patriots' chaplain.

I probably wouldn’t have fired Kingsbury. The Cards were decimated with injuries this year. I’m sure he’ll get an OC of head coaching job in college or the pros though.

PFT's Mike Florio said yesterday that there is a "growing sense" that Sean McVay will step down from the Rams' head coaching job.
"My understanding it's not because of burnout or he wants to get into TV. He won a Super Bowl and now he's looking at a multi-year rebuild that he just doesn't want to be a part of," Florio said.
If true, that's a pretty scathing indictment on McVay. He's 36 years old, a year removed from winning the Super Bowl, boasts a career .612 winning percentage, yet at the first sign of trouble, he's getting out of dodge.

While it happened sooner than any of us expected, he knew damn well that the bills would come due for selling out for the Superbowl title. Him bailing out now would be a massive bitch move
