And why is it 90s Shawn Michaels?
Serious question though, based on what we know, who was the biggest booking headache in wrestling history? I don't mean "who did criminal/morally reprehensible things they should be in jail for", I just mean who had the worst attitude to the point where it ruined shows and backstage moral?

Has to be him, even Hogan who could ruin shows with his booking power doesn't seem to have been an awkward person backstage, just focused on his own stuff.
HBK was the crossover point between "enough power to get away with stuff" and "miserable person to be around" normally the latter never made it to the level of the former.

Yeah people who worked with Hogan loved him. It may have meant being buried but at least you got some good paydays out of it. Sure the long term damage destroyed a company but Hogan was only a contributor and not the biggest.
Has to be Shawn. Buried his opponents without even a good payday to show for it. Was willing to hurt the long term future of the company when he was not even capable of continuing to wrestle.

I mean, at least Hogan would drop the belt in the ring, even if it was usually screwy.
It’s probably HBK, but to name some others, Brody is probably on the list just based on him fighting for his money and not wanting to do jobs.
Scott Hall at his worst times would probably make the list.

Should we include Warrior or was he just a pain in Vince's ass specifically?

Should we include Warrior or was he just a pain in Vince's ass specifically? Most stories about Warrior make him sound like a garden-variety egotistical dick who saved his most difficult behavior for the boss. Like, not very many people's friend (has anyone ever referred to him as a friend, actually?) but the only dick move I can remember him pulling on a wrestler was not slowing down for Andre without some percussive persuasion. So like...not exactly a great guy, but that's dime a dozen jerk behavior.

Brody was a massive pain, but at least he'd piss off before too long.

I mean Jake said he was a jerk to him too (though he also said it was water under the bridge) but yeah that's a really good way of putting it. He was a pain in the ass to Vince and Eric Bischoff to a lesser degree but that's basically it.

Should we include Warrior or was he just a pain in Vince's ass specifically? I've seen several people who worked with Warrior say that backstage he was a quiet guy who kept to himself, and didn't like to go out partying with "the boys". Some people viewed that behavior as arrogant and took offense to it. Others just let him be. Now, in the ring, pretty much everyone agrees he was awful to work with. I mean Jake said he was a jerk to him too (though he also said it was water under the bridge) Jake was supposed to get a main event program and a big payday working with Warrior, but Warrior had a pay dispute with Vince, walked out and/or got suspended, and the program never happened. Jake took that personally, and held a grudge for years.

I thought one of the deals with the Warrior/Jake thing was that Jake had fallen off the wagon and Warrior had no patience for working with someone who he deemed unreliable.

An underrated one is Akira Maeda just ask Riki Choshu and Tiger Mask 1 how much of an abrasive ass he is.

For relative to star power? Honky.
No disrespect to the gimmick or the IC title reign, it was great, but imagine Santino refusing to drop a belt. Are you f***ing serious?

Scott Steiner in WCW was completely out of control and makes the likes of Michaels/Hogan look like saints.
He would go off script and say whatever he wanted in promos. He would go around ringside yelling obscenities at fans despite WCW being a PG show. He hit a backstage worker with a truck. The story Bischoff told about him basically sexually assaulting rookie referees. He would refuse to job to certain people. He would beat the crap out of guys in the ring for real. He beat the crap out of DDP backstage because DDP dared to stand up to him after 1-2 years of him constantly making vulgar comments towards his wife and driving her out of the company.
The weird thing is he was apparently on his best behavior in WWE and TNA. There aren't really any stories of him being unprofessional but in WCW people backstage were living in fear of him he was such a menace.

The fact he refused to drop it to Savage of all people. Shawn no matter how good he was in the ring. He has to top the list. I say Hogan in WCW was bad when it comes to not doing the right thing. One guy who always seems to have a love and hate by people is HHH. I would also add Austin Aries and Low Ki being that they burned so many bridges because there attitude they companies would always end up parting ways with them. Shane Douglas kind of falls in the same boat.

Which just feels bonkers
