Has Game of Thrones already told us the outcome of the story House of the Dragon will tell, the way the Harry Potter franchise did the Fantastic Beasts sequels? The series goes out of it's way to make it clear it takes place 200 years earlier. Given what seems to be the average lifespan in Westeros that's like, 10 generations!

now then ever so slightly lower key but this first episode set things up real nice it'll take me three or four ... seasons to get their names but i can see why there were no hightowers in GoT teehee viserys' pain will run through this entire series daemon (totally named well there) is the danaerys journeyman, looked good in his knight armour, but still looks like a weedy scotsman ... and does NOT have a right to the throne! ask his old lady ... and then his good wife! oh boy this one ... the interesting one is rhaenyra, in the middle, naive and about to be hardened ... and not just by ser lovva boi ... OHH OHH HEEE'S SOOOO DORNIIIISH!!! and then there's otto hightower, don't be fooled by his good intentions, that little smirk at the end ... but there is a load more interesting characters from corlys, who definitely needs a lion by his side looking forward to seeing him in action, to princess rhaenys ... that background will have a vibrating echo all the way to the end what i found interesting was none of these, but at the end the intros to the swearing-in ceremony the death of aemma and her baby was horrible, conjunctioned with the joust tournament and daemons failure to win was pure theatre a better first scene would be have NO music rouse up, until syrax appears onscreen ... but that's details ... as a first view of this westeros it's a bloody good one ... except for that criminal ... WHOOOOOOOO indeed!!!

“Ok, remember when people complained that they couldn’t see anything when the White Walkers attacked Winterfell? Why don’t we run with that, just make like every other scene obscured in darkness?”

I do think the fart noise was a questionable choice
Like “Did the sound editor leave that joke in by mistake” level questionable

It was alright. I'm interested to see the rest.
I do love how the Iron Throne was even more of an occupational health and safety nightmare back then, to the point even the king cuts his hand on it. Seriously, one bad trip up while getting off the throne and King's Landing has got a king shish kabab to go round.

While looking up the prequel I found a high quality fan made trailer for a sequel set hundreds of years in the future in a post industrial revolution Westros. www.youtube.com/watch?v=H9U-rhVp1CQ

There was a fart noise when they de-pants the raper haha I feel like if I was forcibly depantsed I'd probably involuntarily let one rip, so I'd say it's pretty realistic.

If I remember right in the books that was a fable that meant you weren't right for the throne. There was a king that outright died on the Iron Throne. Maegor, the son of Aegon the Conqueror and Queen Visenya. He was known as Maegor the Cruel and by the end of his bloody reign, practically the entire realm turned against him. They never figured out who killed him, so the idea that the Throne found him unworthy and killed him itself became legend.

I love they sprinkled in Maegor references there. I wondered how they would've portrayed him on screen

Just so I understand, this does have an ending already, right?
I'm not interested in them having to get George out of the strip club in order to get him to finish this one as well.

I wondered how they would've portrayed him on screen The parts of Westeros history I thought could make for the most interesting TV shows were Aegon's Conquest, the Dance of the Dragons, and the adventures of Dunk and Egg. And since we got the second, I think a miniseries or a longer limited run series about Maegor could be interesting. Especially since he could be a villain that makes Joffrey Baratheon look nice by comparison.
