For me it was the 56th match between Sheamus and Alberto Del Rio although their 81st one comes close.

Hogan VS Savage at WM5 is my favorite match of all time. And the cumulation of the greatest story the WWF/E ever told. Its still one of the top 15 or so bought Manias of all time.
That said....
It's Hogan VS Andre at WM3. Huge crowd, excellent in ring story. The greatest of all time wins his biggest match and gives WWE its true signature WM moment.

It’s Hogan v. Andre.
There’s been about 500 better matches but not one was that huge.

Austin vs Hart at the Mains 13. Not only is the match itself incredible it set the table for so much going forward in 97 and beyond really.

To properly get this answer you would need to do research by going through various rankings, ratings, and polls done by fans, journalists, and actual wrestlers to try and find a consensus answer.

Watching Austin vs Hart WM 13 match on VHS is what truly made me fall in love with wrestling. It still holds up and has endless replay value for me, and in my eyes it's everything that great pro wrestling can and should be.
The Survivor Series 96 Austin vs Hart match and HBK vs Taker Hell in a Cell are very close to me, too. WWF in the 90s just had so many classics.
But yeah, that WM 13 match is the greatest match ever to me.

Savage/Warrior retirement match. A little bit of everything that makes pro wrestling what it is in that one. This ! Great story telling by both guys. Little things like Warrior catching savage when he came off the top rope and instead of slamming him, just stood him up and slapped him. Monsoon and Heenan were also great !

For me it’s Undertaker vs HBK at Mania 25.

Not saying they're the best, exactly, but I'd watch Mankind vs HBK, "Mind Games" or Cactus Jack vs Triple H, Royal Rumble 2000, any way of the week.
For a very short match, 1-2-3 Kid vs Owen Hart at King of the Ring was also really goddamn good.

I wouldn't argue with anyone saying it's Bret Vs Austin at Mania 13. There's dozens of matches I love but that is right up there.

Pure Sports Entertainment Sense -Hogan vs. Andre -Hogan vs. Warrior -Savage vs. Warrior -Savage vs. Hogan -Hogan vs. Rock, WM18 -Undertaker vs. Mankind, KOR '98 Pure Ring Work -Bret vs. Owen, WMX -Savage vs. Steamboat -Canadian Stampede 10 Man Tag -Bret vs. Austin, SurSer '96 Bret vs. Bulldog, SS '92 The Ones that Meet that Perfect Center -Bret vs. Austin, WM13 -Austin vs. Rock, WM17 -HBK vs. Taker, Badd Blood -TLC 2 -Savage vs. Flair, WM XVIII -Rock vs. HHH, Backlash 2000 -HHH vs. Cactus, RR 2000 -Cena vs. Punk, MiTB 20111[br -1992 Royal Rumble Match If you ever want to make the argument that the sports entertainment side is more important than the wrestling side, you should use this list. The first group had no need for identifiers. When you said Hulk vs Andre we all knew it was WM3 not any of their other matches. Same with the others in that group. When a match is identifiable just by who was in it then you know it's a classic. For the record, I'd put Hogan vs Andre. It packed 93,000 into the Silverdome and everyone went home happy. The high spot was a body slam. It doesn't get much better than that when it comes to working a crowd.

Taker/Michaels at 25 has taken the title from Savage/Steamboat at 3 in the “considered” category.

Taker/Michaels at 25 has taken the title from Savage/Steamboat at 3 in the “considered” category. And who decides "considered"? Because to me that just sounds like WWE rewriting history with their franchise players.
