Savage/Warrior retirement match. A little bit of everything that makes pro wrestling what it is in that one. This is mine. Heenan's line at the finish sums him character perfectly.

In the eyes of the company I think they always pushed Hogan/Andre as number one until Hogan joined WCW then it was the Shawn/Razor ladder match. A couple years later they really tried to hype the Shawn/Bret ironman match as the greatest ever but I think a lot of fans found it boring. The first Taker/Shawn Wrestlemania match is probably the most they've pushed a modern match (last 10-15 years) as potentially being number one.

For me, it's either Bret and Austin from Survivor Series 96, or Wrestlemania 13. I flip-flop on that constantly. Depends on what side of the bed I wake up on. In the end, it's them at WM13 and it's because I saw it in person with my own eyes.

I can tell you five I never get sick of: HBK/Cena in England, Flair/Savage at Mania 8, Bret/Owen Summerslam 1994, Austin/HHH at No Way Out 2001 and Eddie Guerrero/Brock Lesnar at No Way Out 2004.

By who? Because the Fed sure love to bang on about that Iron Man match at 'Mania 12. I remember thinking that match was as great as people said it was. As time went on, I would say the final 10 minutes were worth watching, but the majority was rather slow. It could have been half the time and it would have improved.

Depends on how you measure it. Greatest technically? Greatest impact on the company? Greatest financial success?

Savage/Warrior retirement match. A little bit of everything that makes pro wrestling what it is in that one. I'll be the 4th or 5th person to agree with you. This match is perfect. The entrances, the match, the aftermath. The greatest Babyface turn ever, just perfect. I will also be the first person to say Angle vs Benoit from the 2003 Royal Rumble too, but that's obviously tainted.

Bob Backlund vs. Greg Valentine - Feb. 1979. A one hour draw that is one of the best matches of the 70s.

If you want a match that encapsulates everything that is WWE:
Put me down as one more for Hogan/Andre.

It's Michaels vs Taker at WM25 for me. I was there live so maybe I'm biased. Same. Seeing that match live was an unforgettable experience.

Taker vs. HBK at Wrestlemania 25 was incredible. Bret vs Austin at Survivor Series 1996 is way up there, too. As is their rematch at Wrestlemania 13.
And while I wouldn't call it a technical marvel by any means, Taker vs. Mankind Hell In A Cell at King of the Ring 1998 was one of the most iconic matches ever. That match made Mick Foley.
