Psaro the Manslayer, the main villain from Dragon Quest IV. The bastard has seven forms. SEVEN. That is WAY too many forms, even for a JRPG final boss. Zhuge Liang from Dynasty Warriors (and technically, Romance of the Three Kingdoms itself). "Oh, did you beat me? Haha, silly person, it was all part of my plan"- NO. SHUT UP. YOU CAN'T JUST "ALL PART OF THE PLAN" ME EVERY TIME I BEAT YOU. I WIN. YOU LOSE. F*** YOU. You may find solace in that the writer of the real-life book was heavily biased towards Shu and outright made up some things for Zhuge Liang to have achieved. In real life, Cao Zhang pretty solidly defended Wei from him and he never even came close to conquering Xuchang. Oh, I am well aware of the Shu bias. Reading the book is what ultimately turned me against Shu in the games. Liu Bei is useless without someone (his brothers, Zhuge Liang, his wife) to tell him what to do, Guan Yu is an arrogant dick (and half his accomplishments are made up), Ma Chao is a violent, unrepentant asshole, and Zhang Fei is an alcoholic rapist. "Benevolence", my ass. Oh, there's another one. Jiang Wei, SHUT THE F*** UP ABOUT YOUR BENEVOLENCE!

Trevor in GTAV. I get that playing as a homicidal maniac is pretty much the point of GTA games, but I just found Trevor so deeply unpleasant and unsympathetic compared to just about every other GTA protagonist it kinda ruined the game for me. Kaiden in Mass Effect trilogy {Spoiler}{Spoiler}{Spoiler}{Spoiler}{SPOILER: CLICK TO SHOW}Played as Femshep during last play through, did not romance him at all..
No real issue with him in ME1.. let him live,
ME2 bit of a jerk … an ungrateful one at that too, c’mon man I could have saved Ashley instead of your sour ass (yeah I know Ashley acts same if it’s her that was saved)
Then in ME3.. still a bit of a jerk, but after that point in the game when he can rejoin the Normandy crew.. the way he acts during some meeting points comes off as a whiney teenage butt hurt cause Shepard won’t go out with him… and then, dude your not coming with us on any mission., I’m not wasting any dialogue options on you. I’d rather take James… at least he can be funny sometimes.
I don’t think I have had a play through this far with Male Shep to get to this point. So I don’t how he is at that point. All of this, right here. Ashley might be a space racist in the first game and be fairy superfluous if you're playing soldier-class in ME3, but she doesn't regress as a character the way Kaiden does. Hell, she even becomes more accepting of aliens. Kaiden is just the worst, and I'll never save his whiny ass again. If I can loosely quote Pulse from the Deadlock podcast “GET OUT OF OUR NORMANDY!”

I don't think "go away heat" is attributable to the playable characters, since you really have no choice, but these are my picks;
Wizzrobes in The Legend of Zelda: I've attempted many tries over the years to do a perfect run in the original Zelda without dying, and the 6th Dungeon was always where I ended it. These guys are super frustrating to hit and can cause serious damage. They're a joke in the later games, but nothing to be scoffed at in the original.
Eggplant Wizards in Kid Icarus: I hate these guys. Anyone who has played this knows how annoying it is if they place an eggplant on your head, causing you to have to backtrack to get healed.
The astronauts in Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: These guys are annoying. They shoot you and retreat and it's the only part of the game where I get a Game Over. They're far more of a threat that Shredder himself.
The floor in Castlevania 3: Specifically the floor in the latter part of Level 7. This is an insane task to stay alive. By the time you get to the bosses, you're probably not looking too good.
The photographer in Earthbound: The only person I'm listing here that you don't fight in the game...yet I'm fighting to hit the button fast enough to get through this annoying scene. I don't want a picture.
The hungry fish in Donkey Kong Country 3: I just fed you! Don't eat ME!
Bundt in Super Mario RPG: It's next to impossible to beat him if you or one of your allies is dead, so make sure you bring plenty of Pick Me Ups.
Tauros in Pokemon Red and Blue: I don't even want you, I just want to complete my PokeDex. Oh! You're going to run away after I threw bait at you? This is war.
Mr. X in Resident Evil 2: By the end I was just so tired of him showing up, I can't tell you how stressed out I was during a couple of the fights.
Pierre in Tomb Raider: Words can't describe how happy I was when I finally killed him. What an annoyance throughout the majority of the game, especially since he'd always run away.
The laughing and crying flowers in Tomba: I always save here and try to avoid doing too much early on, since they can kill you very easily.
Split Head in Silent Hill: He's a complete joke on Easy and Medium, but then becomes insanely difficult on Hard. I'd actually go so far as to say he's the hardest boss for the fact that he can kill you in one hit and he's annoying to hit while you're moving around.
Pizza Boy in Twisted Metal 4: I once had a battle in The Maze and for some reason this guy was virtually unkillable. In a battle that usually takes less than 10 minutes, it took me well over an hour to kill this guy since I would get his health down to a sliver and he'd find a way to escape and refill his health. I'm so glad he never returned to another game.
Vamp in MGS2: Like just...die dude. You're not cool, you look dumb walking around with a bullet hole in your head...and in a way it undermines Fortune's gimmick.
King Courtney in GTA III: The fact you can't kill him after he turns on you, causing the Yardis to attack whenever you're encountered is dumb. In fact, unless I'm going for a 100% run, there's no benefit to doing his missions, especially since the last one you do for him is insanely hard.
The Yetis in Ratchet and Clank Going Commando: Talk about overkill. These things take a ton of damage and there's literally hundreds you had to deal with. On top of that, they can kill you very easily. Even the developers knew they went too far here.
Goldberg in Smackdown HCTP: I hate that stupid lockup where he wants you to kick him. A lot of slow plodding moves he can hit you with that I hate sitting through.
Damon in Bully: Just attacks you on sight unlike most anyone else in the game. "I'm going to lay your butt out like a newborn baby" will forever be etched in my mind.

I'd say a good chunk of the Twisted Metal 4 roster counts. 2 probably killed off most if not all of the interesting ones, so the game devs were left with just the lamest ideas when they got to 4. They turned Mr. Grimm and his motorcycle into a pirate with a boat on wheels.

That robot in Super Mario Galaxy who makes you destroy trash with slow-ass Bob-ombs with a time limit for no explained reason. At least Galaxy 2 using the Fire Flower instead gave you a lot more input on how to go about it, even if you know to aim at the coins on the ground in Galaxy 1 those levels are still pretty much luck-based due to how strict the time is.

Never played it, but MGS2 Raiden. Baby Mario on Super Mario World 2 made me quit playing that game immediately at a store the SNES was hooked up at after hearing all the crying. The f***ing stupid goddamn baby penguin on Mario 64. Id always get the star.. then drop the baby off the cliff before grabbing the star.

Some more;
Don Medusa in Adventures of Lolo: Cross paths and it's instant death. Just about every encounter requires multiple tries.
Bald Bull in Mike Tyson's Punch Out: While he is beatable, he gets notoriously petty when he's losing by doing his bull charge. Probably the cheapest move in the entire game. I audibly groaned when I realized I had to face him twice.
The rat in Battletoads: Might be one of the most stressful things in any game ever.
Kent C. Koopa in Paper Mario: This guy was super annoying before I learned the strategy to beat him. Add to the fact he reminds me of someone I used to work with that I didn't like.
Rico in GTA Vice City: The Stunt Boat Challenge is hard enough, but I don't need him in the background chastising me every time I fail.
Zero in GTA Sand Andreas: Although it isn't the hardest mission in the game, it's similar to Rico due to him whining any time you lose.
Shane McMahon in Smackdown 2 Know Your Role: In Season mode, if you simulate the matches it'll decide each winner. For some reason, Shane McMahon was the defacto best and always won, ending up with all the titles.
King Bublin in LOZ Twilight Princess: He only fights for the strongest side...then proceeds to not fight at all. Either have him fight with me or give me the opportunity to kill him, especially after all the grief he provided prior to our final showdown.

I had completely forgotten about that level until I started playing Galaxy again when the 3D All-Stars was released. Holy shit, it’s infuriating.

Honestly, while yeah, it's irritating that they just have you auto-lose to her repeatedly, I ended up warming to her, possibly since her and Steiner falling in love was rather cute.

I'll never understand how this guy has such a big fanbase who wants to see him brought back into post-Legends canon. TFU and TFU2's stories are terrible and the only thing good about Galen is his voice actor, Sam Witwer. And he's gone on to much better roles in Star Wars like Darth Maul. Unironically a lot of the same people who love Starkiller call Rey a Mary Sue.
That’s how you know the “Fandom Menace” types are operating in bad faith. Rey is the Mary Sue, but no t the guy who can take on Darth Vader and The Emperor BY HIMSELF.

Starkiller had over a decade of training under Vader and fought Jedi Masters and monsters like Rancors and Sarlaacs. Rey picked up a lightsaber, got one lesson and is suddenly just as strong
