Page comes across so humble and good natured in this video that Punk seeing this and seething with rage is comically sad Page gives me WCW Steven Austin vibes, he is good but completely useless and yet someone is pushing him real hard while he is just not ready for it. At this point Jeff Jarret was stronger TNA champion than he was AEW champion. Hangman lost the AEW Title to Punk and hasn't got a rematch as of yet, he didn't win the Trios championship and he lost to Danielson in the latest tourney. He's not being pushed right now. "At this point Jeff Jarret was stronger TNA champion than he was AEW champion" - considering that Page hasn't had a match like the one Jeff Jarrett had with Raven in 2003, that's probably true. |

Anyone who calls themselves a locker room leader clearly isn't one. That's something others bestow upon you, not something that you bestow upon yourself. Right. Compare that to the story Malakai Black told about Roman when they were on the loop and Black was cleaning the locker room even though it wasn't his job, he felt it necessary until someone told him not to and Roman walked up to next to him after a few days of saying nah bro what are you doing, you one of us Black held people like Roman and Bray in high regard not because they told him to or walked around with their chest out but because of how they conducted themselves and the way people look up to them Great example there. Roman is one of those guys that, despite being on top of the wrestling world, has never forgotten his roots and where he came from. He didn't designate himself as the leader, he earned that distinction. The only time I can think of Roman going after another wrestler was that story where Enzo was acting like a total clown on the tour bus and Roman kicked him out. |

Now if the talent was aware why they waited till Jericho at the end to tell him I don't know. Maybe they didn't want the shoot ruining their semi worked media appearances? Maybe they didn't know how to do it w/o selling it? For whatever reason they didn't. He certainly needs a better team around him But honestly, I wonder how respected he is. Punk showed him zero respect during that whole thing. |

I think Punk was... a special case, I think its pretty clear TK Showed Punk great admiration and saw him as a huge star, putting him over whenever he could. And like Jericho, it seemd Punk had TK's ear when it came to a lot of things. But Jericho(nor The Elite,Cody Included) would never treat TK like that, Punk showed pretty hard he saw himself above TK by saying "I'm trying to run a business". Not "I'm trying to bring AEW to the next level" "I'm trying to help TK with his company". |

Not only was it very unlikely that anyone was available, interrupting a press conference to say "hey you gotta handle this" is a horrific idea because it only leads to even more coverage of whatever is happening. |

I wouldn't center my thoughts on how much respect somebody has by one person mistreating them, and doubly so when it's a guy like CM Punk who has never seemed like he gives a shit or respects any one person enough to not act in his own interest above theirs at any given moment. In this situation, I don't think anyone seated beside him short of Harley Race could have dissuaded Punk from doing that.

I made the mistake of listening to Cornette's opinion on the matter, to say he's heavily biased is putting it lightly.
I'm pretty much over this entire thing at this point, but I'm still hoping we get some information soon on Punk's status with the company since the longer this looms over AEW, the harder it's going to be for people to focus on the product for what it is, as opposed to the backstage shenanigans of a sour self-entitled egoist.
I will say if I feel bad about anyone in this situation, it's probably AJ Lee since she's got to bear the brunt of Punk's attitude. I can only imagine how hard that would be.
Lastly, I will say those Mindy's reviews are absolutely hilarious.

I made the mistake of listening to Cornette Fixed that for ya. I made that same mistake and was waiting for someone to bring it up lol. I know. The consensus is out in the open about Cornette but .. Damn if that wasn’t one of the saddest things I’ve ever listened to. Hinging so desperately on the anti-elite sentiment even when you can hear it in his voice that he doesn’t even fully buy his own crock of shit. Just sad. |
