Thinking going to look into doing that roundup video thing I was talking about. Can people message me links to some of their favorite posts to help make it easier to parse things? Been looking through rounding up Photoshops throughout the thread but I'm sure I've missed some (and still have a lot of the thread left to track) and I'd also like to throw in some of the best text bits.

Here's the Vengeance 2005 theme: The fact that Mudvayne had a "we're just dudes makin music" era after CHUGG GRUGG SPUG AND PLUGG THE OUTER SPACE SERIAL KILLERS still gets me They were a band looking for a gimmick. Greater musicians than you would think, but just couldn't reach the Slipknot levels of success they were after. Mid '00s PPV themes were so wild because WWE was desperately trying to keep the spirit of rock alive in like the worst possible way. They used a song off of Godmsack's fourth album in 2006. Godsmack in 2006! The only people who gave a shit about Godsmack in 2006 were mid-life crisis dudes who catcalled teenagers from the motorcycles they hung out on top of in convenience store parking lots, and one or two WWE employees who clearly had way too little job oversight to be stopped. Their fourth album had Voodoo Too. A sequel to Voodoo. I know I've complained about Voodoo Too on the AEW board before but I refuse to let them get away with the fact they made a sequel to Voodoo. Only WWE thought "we should reward this behavior".

Can I just say how bullshit it is that Wikipedia stopped listing PPV theme songs? THAT SHIT'S IMPORTANT!!!!!!! It also bugs me they stopped listing wrestlers' finishers, even if I admit some people like Big Show and Test probably made that farcical by having like 12 finishers. This is an enormous pet peeve of mine. Wrestling is special and important because of two things: every wrestler has their own distinct entrance music, and every wrestler has their own named finishing move. |

Alright, in all seriousness, here's something to legit sink our teeth into. A very good listen. This week's episode of the podcast Marty and Sarah Love Wrestling went live yesterday. Marty is in the unique position as he'd known Punk for a few relatively recent years when Punk kept a small circle but never once talked about the off-screen Punk following the Colt fallout. Acknowledging Punk and the scrum being out in the open, this episode talks - not in a gossipy way or clickbait-y but an actually insightful way about it. He comes back to it a few times throughout the whole episode, and it really puts a lot in perspective. Marty and Sarah Love Wrestling is my favorite current weekly wrestling podcast so I'd recommend a subscription. Their take and approach to the medium is refreshing and unique.
