AEW absolutely, unequivocally does not "need" CM Punk. as I said multiple times CM Punk needs AEW more than AEW needs Punk. "All due respect, I do not need AEW, AEW needs to me." - Punk maybe

So the CM Punk stuff has led to a Twitter beef between *checks notes* David Bixsapen and Becky Bayless Dare I look? EDIT: Ah, I see what it's about. Ehh, I get why Becky feels the need to stick up for someone she had positive interactions with, but I also wonder if it's occurred to her how long ago that was. Once upon a time, Colt and Punk were thick as thieves, too, until they weren't. It's sort of like how Winona Ryder said how Johnny Depp had never abused her, but she did also point out that she also had been with him decades ago and that wasn't really any indication one way or another if accusations against him since then had merit. and also "they were nice to me." isn't really a defense against them being a dick to someone else...

Yeah, like, unless he's been poor with his money, maybe he didn't need to come back at all, but it was going to need to be AEW or WWE for the level of spotlight and pay it'd have demanded for him to return, especially given someone else in the thread earlier, I forget who, saying Punk had been indifferent to NJPW, who is probably the only other party I could really see having big money on offer.

Indeed. I once met someone who was polite and charming and very nice to myself and all the staff working that night. It was Prince Andrew.

Becky seems to think “Likes dogs and stands up for women’s rights” means he can’t be an asshole.
Hell even if Punk had been a saint forever, he could’ve been an asshole that night.
Everyone trying to presume what happened behind the scenes seems baseless. I saw Punk be a total knob in the presser. That’s all I know for sure.
I still mostly feel bad for Colt

Look, I love Punk. I loved Punk's run in the company. I wish he didn't flame out the way he did. But in all honesty, AEW would have been perfectly fine without him. I did really enjoy the MJF feud, particularly the dog collar match, and there have been some other highlights, but yeah, last Dynamite kind of made the statement that AEW didn't *need* Punk, and the audience roared in approval of that message.

I am curious about what Meltz is referring to when he says if someone gets fired there will be a lawsuit. Like what grounds would Punk have to sue after a flame out where he buried his bosses and coworkers in public, started a fight, and his one of his flunkies bit a dude. I’m genuinely curious what he could sue for.
Regardless, TK, should just keep him on payroll until he is medically cleared and then buy him out. He’s a a mid 40s guy that essentially has the durability of Glass Joe and is divisive in the locker room. It’s an easy choice to me,
I will say that if Punk is a regular in AEW after his injury is healed it will significantly hurt AEW in the long term. May do okay in the short term, but Punk was getting to the point of diminishing returns already and that’s not even taking into account how polarizing that he is in the locker room.

One is a former coworker and possible friend of Punk. The other is a douchenozzle “journalist” who blocks left and right. I’m sure you can guess how it went. Yep, looked at it. To be honest, I know Bix's name but I know f*** all about him, so I can't really comment outside of saying I can see why she'd feel the way she would about it, given she knew Punk, even if part of me sort of wonders if they kept in touch or not. Bix is... pretentious... ya that seems like a nice way to describe him

Nothing stopping Punk for coming with some crazy story, which is why there si the investigation. I doubt he would win either way but the investigations saves time and makes sure he wont win, maybe doesnt even risk going to court

Over the years, I don't like the guy... Hulk Hogan. Punk made a splash back then, but he isn't Hogan. Didn't even make the moves to become one. From what J've seem just tried to speed run into a role like that, and for most part just ended up overshadowed by muffins and Ace Steel biting by whatever he wanted to do.
Guy let his rep from years back to tell him who he is, but the years passed by. Got over a 100 back then, expected that and more on coming back after years of people fluffing him up. Didn't get it, unfortunately for him,

Am I right that Punk's only losses in his AEW tenure are to MJF (twice) on Dynamite and to Mox a couple of weeks ago?

My dad, aunt, and uncle met John Wayne Gacy, and he... was an asshole, so that's not really contributing to this, nevermind.

One of the funniest random TNA bits of info is that Robbie E and Cookie (Becky Bayless) split because Robbie was like damn I do not wanna be around you at all
