During a recent PWTorch.com audio show, Wade Keller recapped AEW Dynamite: Grand Slam. While speaking about the ROH World Title match between Chris Jericho and Claudio Castagnoli, Keller noted how Punk's name was excluded when Ian Riccaboni talked about the big names that have held the title.

Keller also added that he doesn't expect Punk to return and while nothing is 100 percent set in stone, things seem to be leaning towards a buyout of Punk's contract.

"I think this is noteworthy but not surprising [that] he excluded CM Punk's name as he talked about some of the biggest names who have held the title," Keller said. "That's a bit of a tell. As I talked with Jason Powell yesterday about - I am not expecting CM Punk to wrestle in AEW again. I'm not saying it's 100 percent sure thing but everything is point the direction of some sort of buyout of his contract. We'll learn more eventually about that situation."

Following the backstage fight after All Out, all of the parties involved were suspended and an investigation was launched. No one involved in the fight has spoken publicly about the situation and AEW has remained quiet. It's expected that more info will be coming out very soon.

They likely just put up 1m viewers for the longest stretch in the company's history. They'll be fine. I just kinda feel bad for TK, who put a lot of faith and money in Punk, just for this to happen.

I get TK gets a lot of pressure from fans, but I do believe he's a good dude. He put a lot of indie guys on payroll for AEW Dark matches during COVID when he did not really need to. And unlike the WWE, he did not fire anyone when they had no other place to work during the pandemic.

I have been mostly neutral in this entire 500 page thread and was a fan of him, but how can you really defend someone doing that.

It reminded me of when Paul Heyman would pick fights on live TV with TNN during their first month of existence on the channel. Like why would you do that? No other network is going to trust you after that, and any sponsor or business partner would likely be afraid of you doing the same to them. 

If you have a problem with your business partner, call a meeting in private and hash it out. Live television is not a place to vent your workplace grievances.

with Heyman it was also bullshit. Since TNN did things like sent them state of the art equipment and a crew to help tape the show... but Paul refused to use them.

Ian not mentioning Punk's ROH reign was definitely something. Even if the reign itself was basically a thank you reign before he dropped it to Jamie Noble (seriously) on his way to WWE.

That, or like they're a reality show about, I dunno, rock polishing on TruTV. The kind where every commercial looks like someone's going to get in a fist fight, be fired or arrested, or that they're going to die, and yet none of these things happen.
