I knew November was coming up lol. They have ran Chicago June, September, and November this year.
As much as I enjoy AEW, there is no way in hell I'm dropping all that money in that short time span. I know Chicago is huge and a hot bed for wrestling, but that's asking way too much of them. Not to mention WWE is in town DAYS later with Survivor Series. TK needs to drop the "tradition" stuff.

I wonder if there is a part of Khan that just likes being "home" too. I know that the Khan's own the Jags and is a source of their income/notoriety but I think a lot of people tend to overlook how important Illinois is to Tony at least. - As a resident and one that grew up about an hour from him...I'd say it's overrated haha

They're always going to run Chicago for the Thanksgiving week. You can complain about it but it's not going to change. It's a tradition. I don't think they necessarily intended to run it in June too this year but it lined up with Punk's return. And I know this thread is about slow ticket sales but Chicago is not the real issue. Even in down times, they usually draw fairly well there. It's not as if they would do better Thanksgiving week if they ran somewhere in Iowa for example. They're trying to spread to new markets and go around the country and it's not hitting in a lot of places.

Pittsburgh is oddly a Rampage/Collison show.

The "Edge won't be able to hype up both sides of the arena because one half is empty" tweet is such BS lol, there've been plenty of WWE events where hard cam side tickets haven't been sold either. Tired of people acting like this isn't a common thing in wrestling, I get AEW's ticket sales are lower because they need to fix their pricing but this is the exact type of trollish bullshit I was afraid was gonna happen.

Someone really needs to carefully explain to Tony that traditions are meaningless bullshit to begin with but especially for a company that's only actually been around for four years and doesn't really have any meaningful legacy yet anyway.

I dont think Chicago in November is such a bad thing But he really only should run Chicago twice in a year, All Out, and here I get he overran it because of Punk but now that that's over, just chill on the market tbh

It's really not that weird to run a similar market/venue at a particular time of the year; one of the reasons Dominion is always an awesome NJPW show is in part because it's in front of the crowd in Osaka.
But yeah, just reiterating that ultimately a lot of this boils down to prices being raised this year, plus attendance as a lagging indicator. If their current creative hot streak keeps up it's going to result in some better sales a couple of months from now, most likely.

The last few years WWE certainly has been selling tickets on the hard cam side for pretty much every show It depends on the venue and the demand, which is why I said the tweet is stupid and just trying to make AEW look shitty They need to fix the price range for their ticket sales and this problem won't be such a problem anymore. It's just not working in the economy that we're in right now.

They need to advertise. It's the same problem TNA had. WWE and AEW ran denver this past month within two weeks of each other. SmackDown still has ads on the back of busses and there wasn't a single bit of local advertising for AEW.

It's been brought up before recently but this really seems like it's become more of a problem once Jarrett joined the live event team.

It's a brilliant move by JJ. Keeping a quiet stake in Impact while sabotaging the competition and probably getting young marks like Nick Wayne to invest in Global force gold bars.

Another poor turnout, this is becoming a big problem now and it's sad to see It is becoming quite noticeable and at times a bit of a distraction. Wrestledream there were quite a few empty seats directly in the hard cam shot I couldn't stop noticing. Maybe it is the pricing but if people want to go they will. I don't think the pricing is crazy high. You can still go like 20 bucks if you want The shows are good, ratings and ppv buys are mostly decent to good so not sure attendence isn't. I think maybe the novelty of going to see this fresh new exciting wrestling product has quelled. Maybe inevitable part of being a young company.

The pricing is a huge issue, actually, it's bigger than you think it is People keep saying AEW Ticket sales are like triple some of WWE's seating right now, for some reason. And you can't just slap a price on something in this economic climate and be like "Well if people wanna go, they'll go", not really, and it's showing They need to rethink this whenever it's applicable

Another poor turnout, this is becoming a big problem now and it's sad to see Utah has never been a good turnout for Dynamite The lowest attended Dynamite pre-pandemic was Utah, add on the ticket prices being too high, this sadly isn't a huge shock I don't see it as a "Huge Problem" as it's fixable if they adjust ticket prices, this is just not a market that turns out for them seemingly.
