Back injury. From her description, it sounds like a slipped disc and instead of getting surgery, shes rehabbing it.

Storm said at the scrum that regardless of the injury Thunder Rosa can come right back and lose to her again...a statement that Khan seemed to find humor in so I have a feeling it will be a while before she returns.


The reason I bring up this fact is because on screen Rosa was championing for Tony to be the next champion so this came off as pretty telling

Though, it's not pressing enough that Toni is still being promoted as the Interim champ, which now stands out given how the World and Trios titles are not being referred to as such despite also having been vacated for a mix of health and political reasons (at least in Punk's case there was an injury, now The Elite was entirely due to BRAWL OUT).

It obviously got lost in all of the Punk shenanigans but she said something like “Rosa is “injured” apparently (Toni did the air quotes) and when she decides she isn’t injured anymore, she can come back and lose to me…”

Different situation. The world title and trios were stripped, the womens title wasn't. Those other titles were never considered interim. They've always been full titles. It's only when champs are injured interim champs are crowned. I thought Khan made that clear when he addressed it all on the Dynamite after All Out.

Yeah, the Elite and Punk situations are disciplinary in nature. Punk was injured, but he also punched one of his bosses. An interim champion signals 'This situation sucks, but we're not going to stop pushing you, come back when you're healthy to an instant program and we'll probably keep moving forward'. You do not do that to people who you're suspending, or else the stripping is just a slap on the wrist.
