It makes me happy to hear more people are reading The Authority. One of my all time favorite books when someone other than Mark Millar was writing it. The thing that will make or break that movie is whether or not the director and creatives behind it understand The Authority are not the good guys.

To be fair I dont think the MCU wanted to be associated with stuff like Nazi Cap. They still could've promoted the older comics that served as inspiration for the movies and could be bought in TPB form. Current Marvel doing stupid things doesn't exclude from promoting their back catalog. Some might be a little trickier like Carol becoming Captain Marvel... but at least advertise her first Series as Cap, and maybe some Mar-Vell stories... Like I said they did at least hide some classic books in Moon Knight and Shulk... but it would have been way more effective to just put them front and center.

My friend who is a major comic fan... loves the Authority... but hates that they are in the Mainstream DC universe... mainly the fact it's weird that the parody is in the same universe as what it's parodying... (maybe parody is the wrong word but still)

Seeing the turnout for comic purchases, this was a brilliant move by Gunn to just come out and show the reference material. I hope it continues and spreads over to Marvel.

That one always baffled me to begin with. Just seemed to be capitalizing on some misplaced sense of early 00's nostalgia with everyone loving Keanu lately.
I'd really just prefer to see Matt Ryan's Constantine make it to the big screen. That was perfect casting.

Good. I'm done with JJ Abrams. Yeah, I'm of two minds, one is just meh on Abrams at this point, the other is disappointed since I love me some Justice League Dark.

Yeah, I love JL Dark, but if it means giving the team to another, less hacky creator, I'm all for it.

It's weird seeing them report movies that were in production under the old regime as cancelled. Honestly, I just assume anything pre-Gunn that isn't already in post-production is cancelled unless reported otherwise.

I’m going to give it a chance, but I’m not too excited for what’s been announced. Gunn is great with weird, off beat characters, so I’m sure he’ll do a solid job with the Creature Commandos. With that said, Gunn shouldn’t be directing or writing Superman.
For Batman, we just saw an older Batman with Affleck, and Pattinson is giving us a younger Batman at the beginning of his career, so a mid 30s Batman who has already had at least one Robin is fine. This is probably just me, but I’m hoping Jason Todd and Tim Drake are completely cut out of the universe because the idea of Batman going out and finding a new Robin whenever the previous one moves on or dies always bothered me. Also, we really don’t need Batman to be a dark, brooding, EMO bitch like so many people say they love him to be. If you’ve read the comics, you know that’s not him.
I was thinking the Superman movie would be based on What’s so Funny About Truth, Justice and the American Way, but an Authority movie makes The Elite useless. It be great if Gunn went back and adapted a story from the 70s or 80s, but, from the writers he’s talked about, it’ll be something from after the year 2000.
The Authority never appealed to me, so the movie isn’t all that interesting. Something tells me it’ll be pushed hard because of the relationship between Apollo and Midnighter, and that’ll be the main selling point of the film. The characters in The Authority aren’t well known, much like the Guardians of the Galaxy and the Suicide Squad so expected Gunn to make some major creative changes (well, except for the relationship between Apollo and Midnight, who nobody will allow him to touch).
A Game of Thrones type series based on Wonder Woman, but without Wonder Woman is already done. HBOMAX already has a Game of Thrones spin-off, and I’m expecting this show to be closer to the crap Amazon gave us with their bastardized Lord of the Rings than House of the Dragon.
If there’s one announcement that scares me, it’s Green Lantern. I don’t know why (I have my theories), but DC has gone out of their way the past few years to make Hal Jordan look bad. I recently read an article about how Jordan is too “vanilla,” and is a “throwback to Reagan era America,” to work today, which tells me all I need to know about what’ll be done. I hope I’m wrong because Hal Jordan is one of the greatest comic book characters of all time.
Booster Gold getting a show or a movie is cool, but he needs Ted Kord. This is a show where humor could really come in and make the show great.
It’s not going to happen, but ditch Harley Quinn.

"Skip Jason Todd and Tim Drake" is just about the worst take in the history of takes on the subject.
